I agree with many previous ones, but I think I have one that hasn't been listed: small spaces.

Good old masturbation... seriously...<.<

But considering you're making a game, i'd go for some soothing music... classical and romantic mostly...

Music or games usually. Deadmau5 to me is good music to listen to relax.

Good music.

The hum of a fan nearby.
Cool weather.
A nice time spent petting my dog.
While it's a rarity, getting a good massage.
Lying perfectly still before I drift off to sleep. Of course, for my goals, that's counter productive, but still.
I do not know you but you are a wonderful person. I have never heard that song before but I reallly, really like it. Thank you for sharing. ^-^
It's actually three songs that together fans call the Holy Trinity. Disposition, Reflection and Triad.

And if you haven't heard of Tool, I highly suggest you check them out. They have, in my opinion, wonderful music, and range from energetic to relaxing. Granted, at time their lyrics are hard to decipher, but they sort of argue their message of self interpretation is the reason why they sometimes make it hard to understand. I know I've come up with very different meanings based on my mishearings.

Here, I'll share some more:

A trippy video for Lateralus

Wings For Marie parts one and two back to back

Flood

Right in Two

On the more energetic side, Undertow

Great band, great music, and great to get to share them.

Vicodin! Yummy yummy Vicodin. Well more specifically Norco but it's all the same. It's about the only benefit of having a slightly buggered back is that I get a big bottle o' happy every month.

Things that relax me? Cloudy days, rainy days, gratuitous fictional violence, Wild Turkey, a nice cigar, the themes to Jurassic Park, The Thing, and Blade Runner, the smell of bacon.

Hope that helps, OP.

Winter.

I live in Minnesota, so the winters are usually very nice. Lots of snow, a chilly breeze. I really like the cold.

Storms are pretty relaxing as well. Just not when they knock the power out.

Rainy days (unless i'm outside in the rain)
Listening to Smiletron/Jim guthrie's S&S OST/Other select Video game OSTs and normal songs.
Studio Ghibli films.
Mushi-Shi
A new one is Floating/falling about lazily in the air in Gravity Rush. it's polar opposite is trying to make it to gold medals on all the challenge missions. (sometimes the gravity alteration mechanics fly out of control and send me off course unexpectedly, which really screws with my perception in timed races)

i'm sure there's a bunch of other stuff i'm forgetting but i'd rather spend my free time today getting some gaming done instead of trying to take note of every single thing i find relaxing.

Listening to music usually does the trick.
I would say reading, but I don't read books too often in my spare time anymore.

Well what relaxes me is winning at games and having sex. Probably neither of which you can actually put in your game.

So... rain, a cold drink, and comedy.

Strangely I find masturbation strangely relaxing.

Also, be prepared to take lots of notes because there are tons of ways to relax under the sun.

The instrumental music from The Lion King (Hans Zimmer really earned that Oscar [he deserves more than the one, but if he is to have one, I'm glad it's for that]). But I don't think you'll be allowed to put that in this game of yours.
Well I'll most likely be making the game freeware and available for download so I've thought of putting in music from multiple places, seeing how copyright wouldn't affect anything. But I agree, the lion king does have a pretty damn good OST.

Folk metal and a nice cup of tea work quite well for me
I'm a big folk metal fan as well. What are some of your favorite bands? I love Finntroll, Korpiklaani and Equilibrium.

What things relax you? Give specific examples of sights, sounds, feelings, etc. that relax you.

I am making a game that is designed to help people relax and overcome anxiety and depression and the idea is to make the player/the character traverse areas that relax him/her.
What kind of game are you making with what kind of programs? Sounds interesting I would like to hear more about it.
