I always take my g.f out shopping buy her something expensive she wants (usually designer clothes from somewhere), then get her some smaller surprises to make her go "awww how sweet".

Always gets something she really wants, and some extras she wasn't expecting. Easy.

You can't go wrong with one of those teddy bears that you can microwave. They get all warm in the tummy and then she can use it to go to sleep with. you know... if she's cold.

Or a vibrating rubber duck. because sometimes vibrating action does the opposite of making things clean...

WARNING : DO NOT ATTEMPT WHAT I AM ABOUT TO DIVULGE - IT REALLY DOESN'T WORK...

She was my first love. It was our second Christmas together. I've always been a joker (and I am not a christmas fan anyway), so that particular christmas, I decided (without telling her) that I would get all her presents from a £1 Shop, and spend no more than £10 on her. This meant, after I opened up her presents (clothes, cd's, dvd's) she started on my pile, which contained :

- A tube of plastic horses
- A small crowbar
- A shoebox with various models of teacups in it (which i'd wrapped in newspaper as a sort of game)
- A picture of a cat (not hers)
- A bag of clothes pegs

Needless to say, she was entirely unimpressed. The Capitalist whore.

And how did this romance finish? Why she broke my nose with her kneecap and I had to stagger to a pub, whilst woozy from the lack of blood, to get a pint of cider (for the sugar, of course) :)

Well, gee, you of all people should know what to give your own girlfriend.

What does she like to do? Give her something that suits that. Likes to read? A good book. Likes movies? Take her out? Give her a DVD box? I don't know.

On top of that, going out for a fancy restaurant always scores. With me, anyway. Then there's always a toy. Yes, one of those.

I personally didn't like The Hogfather that much. Partially because they used the same actors they had previously, and put them in as different characters. And partially because it just seems to lack the spark of Pratchett's novels.

My girlfriend doesn't want anything this year because I already flooded her with gifts when I was there last, and ended up giving her her christmas present early. I will probably send her something, though.

The last 2 years I pretty much just took her out shopping. Last year I took her to buy a new winter jacket and some cloths and this year took her to buy some new perfume and some shoes. While it is unimaginative they are things she needs/wants and it is a good thing to spend my Christmas bonus on.

For a gift, this is absolutely perfect.

where did you get these cartoons? Because i saw them on my university newspaper a couple weeks back.

anyways, on point. Get her tickets to a show, and a supper before hand. Women always love to get dressed up and go out, and so, give her a reason to do so. Last year for instance, I bought my g/f tickets to our symphony, and supper at a fine restaurant, and it scored pretty good points on the "its perfect"-o-meter.

I don't really have any good advice, i'm just posting for a solid brag. My Girlfriend is currently travelling around the world (we met after she had booked her ticket and being the good Yorkshire lass she is she went as she had "Bloody well paid for it") and i won't get to see her till mid feburary when i'm flying out to Melbourne to meet her there for a three week holiday. We are very much in love so i decided to make her a 'Comming to Australia Advent Calander'. It starts from the 1st Feburary till the 18th (day before i get there) and behind each door is a picture of me and her and a little message on the inside of the door. This is definately going to win me some points and i'm expecting to be shut in a room on the 18th only to appear on the 20th with a very broad smile over my face :D
