Pretty simple, what invention, world changing, trivial, what-have-you, was invented in the country you call home?

I'll go first.

America- Airplane, Machinegun, bifocals, tumbler lock (I believe), and the telephone.

EDIT: LISTS DON'T COUNT SLACKERS!!!
sorry, Alexander Graham Bell was Canadian. You guys didn't invent the telephone. It was patent in the US, yes, but he was Canadian
Alexander Graham Bell was Scottish.

Canada, according to Wikipedia, made all this stuff.

In no particular order:
Standard time, newsprint, kerosene, the telephone, robertson screwdriver, the lightbulb (Henry Woodward, a Toronto resident, sold the patent to Edison), the tubeless tire (now the standard in all vehicles), the gas mask, snow blower, electron microscope, the walkie-talkie, canola, the pacemaker, the CANADARM, imax film, and the blackberry.

HAH! I knew someone from the US would post 'The Internet' sooner or later. You, sir, are exceptionally misinformed. Much as the USA would like to take the credit for creating the most important invention of the past century, they have no rights to do so. The internet was actually invented by Tim Berners-Lee, an ENGLISHMAN from London who created it in 1990. To be fair though, the USA did have the tools to make something similar as early as the 1960's, but the internet as a whole, and the 'World Wide Web', weren't created until 1990, after a proposal for its development was put forward in 1989 by Berners-Lee, who was working at CERN at the time. So yeah...
Tim Berners-Lee did not invent the internet. He invented the World Wide Web which used the already extant internet. If you'll notice, his Wikipedia article makes no claim that could be interpreted as implying he invented the internet.

TCP/IP wasn't invented by him either, so... no, the internet was very much invented in America, even if a British man did invent its arguably most useful feature.

Well there is some Scottish inventors.

Although what I hate about these threads is that if I listed inventions I will always get quoted by an American saying that they actually invented it, such as the telephone.
