Dynamite, wrench, ball bearings, the Celsius temperature scale, blow-torch, a Swedish inventor built the Monitor battleship, safety belt, pacemaker, the Battlefield game series and we also sold Bofors anti air cannons to all sides in WW2 =P

Nothing! I can't recall any inventions that come from Iceland...
But if I would recall my homeland (England) then I would probably say, THE INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION! YEAH BITCHES!

Czech Republic: soft contact lenses and something called polarography. And we "invented" the word robot.

One thing, US _did_ invent the Internet. World Wide Web and Internet are not the same thing.

Ireland:

-Guided Missiles
-Portable Defibrillator
-Radiotherapy
-Irish Whiskey

And to top it off I'll toss in a drink which captures the stereotype of Ireland: Poitín [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poit%C3%ADn]. It's an alcoholic drink made from potatoes and contains 60%=95% v/v of alcohol.

You would be surprised about how many Australians don't know that it was Dirk Hartog that was the first European to get to Australia, not Captain Cook.

I had some of that once. It was 80% alcohol, every swig felt like a major achievement.

If anyone's showing off it'd be wikipedia. God(don't care wich) bless the internet. Also as we invented(philips, in cooperation with sony) the CD, in part we're also resposible for massive distribution of games, i guess.

"CD-ROMs and CD-Rs remain widely used technologies in the computer industry. The CD and its extensions are successful: in 2004, worldwide sales of CD audio, CD-ROM, and CD-R reached about 30 billion discs. By 2007, 200 billion CDs had been sold worldwide."(Wikipedia)

Yay.

The referee whistle.

Tying a piece of elastic round your legs and jumping off a bridge.
Getting into a big bouncy plastic ball and rolling down a hill.
A car that drives on water and land, looking equally retarded doing both.

Everything that screams "Look at meeee!!", pretty much.

On a serious note, modern atomic science. Not invented -in- this country, per se, but the bloke who first split the atom was a Kiwi.

Quite funny really, invented/discovered by a Kiwi, then banned in this country. Must be some guilt-by-proxy, as there would be no Hiroshima/Nagasaki, Chernobyl, Three Mile Island or Cold War if it weren't for Lord Rutherford's contribution.

Also ninja'd on Trench Warfare.

Who knows what else some crazy Kiwi will come up with to fuck up your day, eh?

You left out the entire proper science of Chemistry (no kids, alchemy does not count as a science)! That right obscure internet joke friends, 17th century chemist Robert Boyle was Irish all along!

Also, it's common knowledge that everything England ever invented was stolen from the Irish during the Great Famine, including everything that was invented before the Famine took place!

I'm sure this has already been posted but I only read up to page two before my RAEG!11!! kicked in.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the internet. He's British. His family is/was pretty impressive on the whole too.

Korea: Ironclads (ships covered with sheet metal)

Edit: This was before the Union and the Confederacy made them

If I remember correctly, the paper clip, the aerosol (or however you spell it, cba to look it up at the moment) can and the outboard boat engine was invented by a Norwegian that didn't get support in Norway, and therefore moved to the US to patent it, and then the outboard engine was invented.
