Pretty simple, what invention, world changing, trivial, what-have-you, was invented in the country you call home?
I'll go first.
America- Airplane, bifocals, tumbler lock (I believe).
EDIT: LISTS DON'T COUNT SLACKERS!!!
EDIT2: Alright, there has been a lot a feedback, thank you guys for that, however a lot of things have been contested, rather than stating where something was invented, we will now use the natioality of the inventor, now shut the fuck up about the telephone! I removed it, so quite telling me about it.
EDIT3: The first machine gun was not invented by the germans, it was invented by Hiram Maxim, an American born British gunsmith. A machine gun is defined by three things, it is self powered (you hold the trigger it keeps shooting), fires a rifle round (SMGs and MPs don't count), and uses an ammo belt or high capacity magazine, the Maxim machine gun is the first gun to fit this bill, so the machine gun goes to the British.
