I'm curios to find out what people from different age groups 1st computer game played ever was.
For me personally, being in my late teens it was Lylac Wars.
The day i killed that giant ape at the end never made me happier.

It was a 2D Simpsons game on.......I can't even remember the console, except that it was white.

I remember Bart scateboarding down the street sidescrolling style, but not much else.
I had Prince of Persia on the same console if it helps anyone identify it.

Bart Vs The World? That would make it NES, but I don't think Persia came out on the NES, so a 2E? Commodore? Ringin' any bells here?

I just did an an image search of them all, and I'm fairly sure it was the Commodore.

If you're talking PC games, the first one I played was The Eleventh Hour...a pretty fun little murder mystery game with the standard bad acting.

If you're talking first game EVER, and this makes me a little older than most of the posters on here, It was Astro Warrior for the Sega Master System, an overhead shooter that is a lot like 1942 for the NES...but in OUTER SPACE! ...I miss my Master System, it was so good, just unfortunate that it came out a year after the NES, so it wasn't as popular because people already bought the NES and didn't have the need for two systems. lol

It's a funny story though...I was five when we got our Sega Master System for Christmas, but I didn't play the game until the next day, because I was afraid that I wasn't going to be good at it. I still remember how into that game I got...proves how powerful video games can be if they create a world for you to get sucked into. For the record, I WAS good at it, and I've been playing ever since...I now have 22 years under the belt and I'm not planning on hanging it up anytime soon.

I had to think about this for a good while, but I'm pretty sure it was called "Castle" and was on my dad's old Apple II. Had green screen type and graphics, you moved and attacked with the arrow keys and hunted for treasure. The monsters were little symbols like spades or clubs, or little smiley faces (WAY before the era of , it was more like -_- but happy).

Now im gonna see if I can hunt this down...
