Were games under a rating censor back in the early 90s? If so, then I've been playing Doom and Wolfenstein since before I can remember, since infancy. There was also a game on the Jaguar (yes, my idiot father actually owned a Jaguar) and on that was a hyped-up ultra violent version of American Football where you could decapitate opposing players and the ball itself was covered in metal spikes. I can't remember the name of that game but I played that all the time. My parents weren't much for censorship, one of my earliest memories is watching Predator with my dad at the age of three.

Predator: Concrete Jungle. That was a great game. I think I was 13 when I got it.

EDIT: No, wait, I had GTA III before that. It just took me far longer to finish it.

Perfect Dark on the N64 when I was 11.

My mother bought it for me because I had done good in my exams.

Vice City was easily the best GTA game I've played.

Probably GTAIII for me. I didn't really know what to do though, so I just stopped playing it after I couldn't get any prostitutes.

After that? Probably Halo. That was the first "MATURE" game I completed and enjoyed.

I still keep trying to come back to GTAIII though. One day.

Half-Life 2, when I was 13; not all that objectionable, and it's a well-told story with solid gameplay.
FYI Half Life 2 was a 15. Assuming you played it back in 2005ish time.

OT: Probably GTA 1, I remember playing the demo lots and lots.. I was maybe 7-8? I havent a clue tbh. The first full game probably being Unreal Tournament or Quake 3. Or GTA3, that game was so much fun as a kid, My dad had it, So I went on it early in the morning before my parents got up.. One time my mum got up and caught me on it, my awesome dad blagged my mum that I got the discs mixed up with GTA and GT3 (Gran Turismo) haha, although he never told me about him owning 'Manhunt', which I dont blame him for considering that game was really pure violence, and for me to play it at such a young age, wouldnt go down well, not to mention what my mum would say.

I think it might have been the original Driver when I was 10 or 11.... was that rated 18+? Oh well, I can't really remember. I vaguely remember playing GTA when I was around 12 or so, but I think Blood Omen when I was 13 or 14 might have been 18+. So yeah, I'll go with that.

Blood Omen
Age at Time: 13 or 14
Platform: PS2
Violence Level: Lots of blood, ripping people's hearts out, tearing heads off of innocent bystanders, and steam-cooking guards... but of course it was early PS2 so now it looks like people got hit in the face with frying pans so we're draining strawberry soda out of people. It actually wasn't that terrible, and it was about vampires, so there wasn't really any connection to life.

EDIT: Oh wait Mortal Kombat counts?? Yeah... woops.

Starcraft was 16+ and I played it when I was 5, but I guess that doesn't count.

I guess Half-Life counts. Played that one when I was 8. Maybe even Diablo. Around the same age. Can't remember which came first.
