Another Runescaper here. But when I found out that you had to grind for hours on end to get anywhere, it made me stop playing it, and any other MMO's.

Ulitma Online. I quit right before they added the no PvP world. Getting killed by marauding bands of a-holes while I was minding my own business and trying to have fun is why I quit. Didn't touch another MMO until City of Villains came out...wait, I did try out Anarchy Online before CoV but I found it horribly designed and not fun to play at all.

it'a a close call between RO, WoW, and FFXI. I never remember which came first.

Tele-Arena MUD for MajorBBS -> MajorMUD for MajorBBS -> The 4th Coming Beta -> Ragnarok Beta -> Shadowbane Beta -> Final Fantasy XI -> World of Warcraft Beta -> World of Warcraft -> Real Life Beta.

I rarely get past beta, but I did have a good time in most of those games. The only one that was completely underwhelming was Shadowbane.
