GTA IV, The Lost and Damned...
When Ray sends his men after you and you have to kill all of them...
Five cars with four mobsters in each all firing SMGs at you while your riding your piss-ass motorcycle...
I still haven't done it. It's really a matter of luck though... I got through the original IV and TBoGT without cheating, but TLaD is just annoying.

I think it was inside the ship... a long corridoor where you climb a bunch of pipes, then have to execute a perfect wall run and jump the other way onto a red bar.

I was stuck there for an hour.

Also... 2 or 3 of the Collossi from SOTC stumped me real bad.

And... Ocarina of Time, how the hell was I meant to know I was supposed to bomb that rolling Goron to progress the story??
Silly- I thought they would have taught you proper Goron rolling/bomb techniques in first grade, like the syllabus requires.
In prototype. It was less 'How do I do this' and more 'Which approach will circumvene the level of challenge the game is attempting to present to me?'
That one part where you have to destroy all of those filters. Spent hours trying not to take a direct approach, then took a direct approach with a helicopter. Works every time.

Assassins Creed 2. I was DETERMINED to climb a certain church tower in Venice. I spent an hour trying to climb it and I just couldn't figure out how to reach the top.

I was furious and felt very silly when I found out you learn a technique a little later to help you climb the thing.
I also did this, cheesed off wasnt the correct term

After subjecting myself to Dante's Inferno all night, one part where I had to swing across a wall on some ropes just killed me. :< my ex got it done in one try, too.

I hate to say this. I really hate to say this. But in LoZ: Phantom Hourglass, I could not figure out how to stamp that symbol onto my sea chart. I spent forever trying everything: pressing every button and touching every place on the screen. Finally, I decided to give up, but I didn't want to lose my progress in the temple by turning the game off, so I decided to put the DS in sleep mode by closing it. That's when it struck me. I closed the DS and opened it.

The symbol was on my sea chart.

Trying to do a Tri-Attack in Resonance of Fate. Once I finally figured it out, I felt like a complete moron but the tutorial and the manual do a terrible job of explaining it and they both make it sound really complicated.

It wasn't until I had 6 hours clocked on my file that I figured out of how to do the most crucial part of the battle system. -headdesk-

Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Tribes of the East. The second map, I think it was, from the Barbarian campaign. It's just too damn hard! The enemy comes at you every week with an army they couldn't possibly have from one weeks growth. I keep defeating their army, but only if I defend in the second city and take great losses. Unable to progress my army keeps getting smaller and then they go to my undefended city...

I just gave up. Perhaps I'll try again sometime at a lower difficulty setting.

the Stupid Insane MMORPG Face of mankind, It had only 1 tutorial, Which was barley noticeable, A avi Video which was put on the desktop, And it was heard to understand, so it basically lets you into the game with no idea what to do. i tried a battlegrounds, but i assume we wernt supposed to go there yet, since i couldn't kill ANYTHING.

I had many moments in Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Dragon Age. Even some God of War puzzles.

Oh, and my most notable was in Half Life 2, when you are on the water boat and you have to jump that one ramp that leads to the irradiated stream or whatever(the ramp that was like, over water). I didn't fucking know you needed to move those barrels underneath it, and I spent so long thinking WTF

Some of the challenges in Guilty Gear XXAC+ were just mean and had me wondering how in gods name you were supposed to beat them. They tell you what your goal is, but trying to achieve it is another thing because of some of the ridiculous handicaps they put on you in some of them.

A lot of the Portal puzzles just pissed me straight off when I first played them. Nowadays, they all seem incredibly easy to me.

Alright, so there was this spot in the original God of War that always got to me. No, it wasn't the Hades blade-walls that frustrated so many of you. Something as complex as that I pull apart pretty easily because I benefit from alot of pattern recognition to plot the safe route.

My problem was a simpler mechanism, one of the traps of madness. Namely, the one that shoots spikes from the floor and instantly kills you. See, the blade-walls were reasonable in the sense that you weren't automatically dead. This was a repeated and irritating sequence of having to do something quickly and precisely many F-ing times, and then having to go back to the last save point again and again every time you got it wrong.

Technically, that's not so much a 'How do I do it?' as 'Why the fuck won't this thing WORK?', because after a good fifty times, I have the movements down pat and it should be possible to do it, but Kratos was like "Nah" and decided to make peace with the spikes and impale himself, rather than taking to the ledge you need to get to. I know the makers of the game actually apologized for Hades, but I think they should've done the same for that as well.
