The Ocarina of Time Water Temple, when I screwed up with the keys. I found out what I did wrong, but had saved already. Had to start a new game after that, and work my way up all over again...

Stuck in an air type room on Hotel Dusk is most notable for me, worst thing was I was on holiday and had no use of a computer for help...felt so good when I finished that game.

Assassins Creed 2. I was DETERMINED to climb a certain church tower in Venice. I spent an hour trying to climb it and I just couldn't figure out how to reach the top.

I was furious and felt very silly when I found out you learn a technique a little later to help you climb the thing.
Yeah, same here.

Trying to find Skunkape in the most recent Sam & Max episode. Finally figuring out the puzzles is the best part of Sam & Max, but I randomly wandered about for the better part of an hour and a half, then left and came back to do the same for twenty minutes, until I figured out the insultingly easy solution.

I just recently did the Co-op campaign of Splinter Cell Conviction with a friend. We always shoot out the lights before entering rooms, so we spent a good while looking for how to exit a room before finally accidentally latching onto the pipe we were supposed to climb.
You lucky bastard... how is it? We don't have it yet >.<
Also, for me I have to say Lostplanet in the open are with all those worms chasing you. I went to the end of the map when I was supposed to enter that door to the side.

Sam and Max for the wii. Some of these puzzles are compleatly insane, like how was I supposed to know that you had to throw the red snail at the gong to summon the Bermuda triangle in the right spot???

Bioshock 2. I know it's not a hard game and I passed the rest with ease, but those mother fucking big sisters. I had no ammo and no lives, I saved and in that moment a big sister appeared and farmed me in front of one of those respawn chambers.

STALKER clear sky can go fuck itself. Every single mission and npc.

Crash: Mind over Mutant.
Aku-aku simply tells you "Go back the way you came"
HOW?!!? It keeps getting blocked off, and there's no specific route.
I was thinking of selling it today, but I WILL NOT let it beat me!

Stronghold Deluxe Economy Campaign.

I swear to freaking God, that is impossible, unfair and mean!

You encounter certain events througout, but those appear at an alarming rate, in the most impossible places, all at the same time!

I'll show you what I mean:
I was playing, I had to gather some food and beer. The only usable floor is in a valley, so there's all my greenery, safely chucked away from the point on the map where the baddies spawn.

Now, sounds good, right? NO!

At one point I had 2 fires and 3 groups of enemies. 1 group of enemies is about 6 guys, I IN TOTAL had 6 guys, because all my citizens perished in the 2 fires! Then the game has the guts to put my popularity under 50, because of enemy invasion, fire and a lack of food because of points a) and b)!
A popularity under 50 means people are LEAVING, so all the people who die are not replenished, nor do you get new people. Also, to get an army going, you need money. To get money, you raise taxes, which in turn lowers popularity.
You end up with ashes where your farms used to be and no citizens. Bribes are needed to get your economy back up, emptying your treasury, so it can be plundered and burned down again.

If you see a vicious cycle of messed-up rolling before your eyes, you're not the only one, I left the game to quietly die in a dusty corner.

Most recently...some of the Insanity side-missions in Mass Effect 2. There were some parts I was ready to give up on.

Devil May Cry 3, the weapon Nevan.
No matter how much I persisted I could never ever make that weapon act anywhere close to as awesome as it seems capable of being.
I was never any good at Guitar Hero or Rock Band past medium either..
I guess there's just not enough Rock n' Roll in my soul..
But that's all Nevan was: something that could be awesome.
Agni & Rudra or Beowulf, however..

Anyways, i get stuck in so many games in the easiest of places to get through, i'd have to hang myself in shame if i told anyone.
I guess some SFIV training combos are safe to mention.

Basically the whole of God of War, there are so many moments in that bloody game that i found impossible to complete without a guide. Such as the room where you need to pull a level and jump up some rising platforms. This offers no clear way out of the room, and i am expected to somehow know that if i go back and pull the lever again, the exit will appear underwater at an obscure corner of the room, out of sight. HOW THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO REALISE THIS? The fixed camera does not exactly help either >_>

That's enough rage for now methinks.

In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl when I got locked inside that room with c-consciousness. I spent some time a lot of time looking around with WTF expression on my face... until I went for the blunt shoot-the-shiny-things approach (of course I did try that right away, but I was not violent enough, you realy had to shoot it gooood).
A hit with the knife would've instantly broke it ;)

My OMG moment also came from STALKER, in modded version though:
The valley to the Red Forest. Imagine this: A road running through 2 high rock walls. Beside the road, there are some small rocks and bushes.
Up ahead are like 16 enemies in the best armor of the game with highly accurate guns. They can see through the bushes.
Took me 16 times to get past it. Goddamned that was hard, almost resorted to cheating.

EDIT: Oh. I remember another one. In Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinistrals. There is a temple with a coloured tile puzzle, where you've to put 3 of the same colour next to each other to make them vanish, but you may onle pick up a few. If you played the game, you know which one I meant.
And it was really. Fucking. Hard. I had to use the strategy guide I was supplied with. Goddamned.

Pretty much everything from The Darkness, especially the death levels.
I spent soooooo long in those I finished it but I have erased that period of time from my memories. Probably for the best too.

Mirror's Edge

I think it was inside the ship... a long corridoor where you climb a bunch of pipes, then have to execute a perfect wall run and jump the other way onto a red bar.
Shit, I'm still stuck there, and that was months ago.

PS2 games seemed to be horrible about this, always with the hidden keys and such. Maybe because now I know about GameFAQs and that solves all my problems.

That and Old Hero boss fight in Demon's Souls...
How do you get to the boss fight. Please. I've been stuck...for so long. On the first level. The castle thing. I mean I've unlocked everything past the left gate. The right gate remains locked. And that dude with the halberd and the red-eyes? That guy is evil. Insta-killed me like 5 times. God damn! Its just...just so hard. So yeah Demon's Souls would be my HOW DO I DO THIS?!?!? Moment.
