What were the major anime of the past few years?

Well lots of people are putting out personal favourites and you could get an endless list of that, but for the biggest 'major series' you missed the top 3 unanimous choices would probably be Death Note, The Melachonly of Haruhimi Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Runner up would be either Clannad: After Story or Code Geass, depending on your preference (I tried Clannad but it retained too much of a 'dating sim' vibe for me).

I've only ever heard of Haruhi.

Oops how did that happen, let me go edit it. Though they did release a second season fairly recently... great to see but obviously disappointing for a very obvious reason.

Were it not for those eight obvious reasons there would be no movie. Yes, that is how it worked.

Argh, that's right, I really need to get around to see that movie.

Still. The endless eight really ought to have been handled better. I watched it all too.

Seen it five times, myself, just to say I did. Not sure if that is a good thing.

Spoiler: Direction rant.

They should have gone from 1 to say, 2, 56, to 893, to 1100, etc. to 15,498 as the last and had really different circumstances such as the dance being rained out or my avatar actually telling everyone something was wrong beforehand at least once.

Oh, well. The movie makes up for it scores over.

Is that Direction rant spoiler free?

Kiba is nice and long while being different. Slap up is a hilarious parody of old RPGs. Skull Man is a really involving scifi mystery. Seiken No Blacksmith is now one of my favorite story lines ever with fantasy. Juuousei is a great survival story epic. Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom is an engaging tale of brainwashed assassins. Guin Saga is a good fantasy epic. Scrapped Princess is a decent scifi/fantasy story. Grenadier: Hohoemi no Senshi is a nice alternate world gunslinger story. Shining Tears X Wind is the kind of anime that made the genre so popular. Needless is your basic mutant mishmash that is somehow pleasing.
