What will be GOTY for 2011?

Batman: Arkham City should stand a fair chance if it even reaches its predecessor to the shoulders. My guess would be either that or, slightly less likely, Skyrim, unless they've improved massively on it since its predecessor. We can only hope.

Well, I tend to think of Minecraft as a 2010 game because I started playing it in 2010, so it's probably a toss-up between Witcher 2 and (if it lives up to the hype) Deus Ex 3. The actual awards I have no idea haha. I expect to see a lot of Minecraft and Portal 2*.

*Incidentally, I loved the crap out of Portal 2...for about 6 hours haha.

To all the people saying Skyrim - there's been a bit of a miscommunication. This thread is about the BEST game of the 2011, not the BUGGIEST. Common mistake.

It will have bugs, But it will be better then games without bugs.

Hell, If it was only on-par with oblivion I would still love it.

Infact I have never played so open of a game, And one I loved so much as a game made by bethsda.

For best psp game I would have to go with patapon 3. It continues with the very refreshing and original gameplay that made the series popular. I also like it because the series is actually tailored to fit the psp.

I can't say anything else for any other platform due to the fact that the year is still young and I haven't played sykrim, witcher 2, mw3, battlefield 3, lost in shadows, or diablo 3 (hopefully this year).

So far my game of the year is Portal 2. I'm not going to be buying many games this year sadly, because I want just about everything coming out or has come out.

I'm pretty confidant that these games will be contenders from what I know of them, and from people's reactions.

Sadly as someone has already mentioned, Modern Warfare 3 will probably ending up running away with game of the year. -sigh-

Ok that was a really obvious joke but I haven't play many of the games that came out this year
but I think the media choice will be Gears of war 3 because it is the end of the series and those normally get a lot of attention but I will pick Deus Ex: Human Revolution for 1000.

It depends on how well Catherine's puzzle gameplay works and how high Dark Souls gets my blood pressure. Most likely one of those two. Definitely looking forward to the EU release of Child of Eden as well, but I expect to spend more time in the other games.

So many good games this year.

Oh, and this is just my personal ranking. Don't care who gets an award (unless it's a game I like, then it's 'YAY, AWARDS!').

The Witcher 2 so far is my GOTY.

Depends on whether or not Skyrim is any good. When Bethesda said that the consoles were the main platform for the game it doesn't make me excited.
