Mordin and Thane will likely be dead no matter what. I'm assuming that most of the other squad will likely at least show up if they survived. Ashley/Kaiden will very likely be a party member, likely a starting one, just because of the fact that they are humans and have a stake in the reaper battle. I hope that Tali comes back as a potential party member, as I've always thought she was one of the more interesting characters, and the same goes for Garrus. We'll likely have 2-4 new members, with the rest of the party being members that return from other games.

I also hope that we can actually miss party members in this one. One of my main problems with the second was that it seemed like you never really did anything that was grandly important, instead focusing on just getting the team together.

And if Bioware could always have everyone who died in ME2 (besides Shepherd, as the loading screens said something about loading saves to ME3 'if you survive') come back in the same way that Shepherd did in ME2 (complete body rejuvenation). It would make some sense, as that party is known to work well with Shepherd and therefore increases the odds of success.

Chances are though that something will happen to split them up, likely involving Shepherd doing nothing for a year or more due to some unforeseen factor (betting on the Illusive Man betraying him myself). This would allow players to get the team again (and once again waste time dicking around in my opinion), as well as not force the player to live with anything Shepherd did while the player wasn't playing (as everyone knows that when the game isn't occurring, Shepherd can't move or think for himself :p).

I'd hope that it would be a combination of ME1 and ME2 teammates, depending on who died and who hates you. They don't really need an excuse to get rid of all the characters because it would be stupid to do so.

What they really need to explain is who over at Bioware thought the final boss for ME2 was a good idea...I thought it looked idiotic, like a giant terminator.

ok ive read enoth of this If your squad lived they will return in ME3. To those of you who beleave that they have to put the story around everything so they couldnt do this understand this ME3 has been in production since before ME2 was released (they started on it during the beta) they had the time and reasorces they wont screw up our own canon. Ok now on to the you died comments you will import your save and i can guess that you will play what ever alliance member you saved on vermier. Finaly thane may live if for no other reason then these 2 things Mordin is a medical syvant and liara is the shadow broker. (Let me make this simple for any one who cant see what im talking about with that mordin with UNLIMITED resorces just think about that:)

So with the new Mass effect 3 coming out you have to wonder how Bioware will suddenly cause all the characters from the last game to suddenly disappear. So what do you thnk?
Why don't you tell, me since you happen to know sooooooooo much about ME3.

I bet that your romance from ME1 will come back and will try and kill you and you new romance...which from the looks of it it's going to happen to everybody. I mean...Who honestly stuck with Ashly when you had Tali?
I did. Tali seemed too much like a sister to me. Would you sleep with your sister?
Fair point, but I really didn't see her as a sister...and Ashly was a racist.
