Absolutely nothing, really. I've seen some truly horrible games, but it usually balances out against the good-to-brilliant ones.

Faith in humanity, though. Damn. Haven't had that in years.

When games stop having meaningful single player content. Some games can be built on multiplayer but they are rare. Even MMORPGs need some form of single player. Sometimes you just don't want to deal with Little Jimmy Retard when you want to kill something.

When originality is totally gone or when everything uses only motion controls.

Agreed, I wouldn't lose faith in gaming do to this, but Little Jimmy Retard (call him LJR for short) does get under my skin, be it in fps games (team killers, sore loosers) or in MMO's. Examples of MMO behavior: Idiot healer heals only himself, or heals no one at all, runs off and dies every 5 seconds, zergs a quest you wanted to take your time at, I could go on with this. All personal experiance with LJR syndrome players.

If all games became generic knock-offs, and no games had anything new and original.
(motion controls don't count as original, they count as a gimmick)

a constant flow of bad games while the good game making company keep making boring casual games that a monkey could play.

I would seriously loose faith in gaming if motion controls became the standard for games. At that point i think i'd cry, because unless the point is to work out, stick to the analog controllers!!!

A day when games are predominantly online multiplayer only, Controlled via motion controls, intergrated with social networking sites so you auto status update when you go on kill streaks and the like, and the abandonment of having a plot in the game at all.

Wow.. were closer than I thought.

Games like Halo/Gears of War become the epitome of gaming. Don't get me wrong I like those kinds of games, but if they become ALL we can play, then we're boned as a species.

A sort of hybrid between the online interaction of Demon's Souls, and xbox live. As in, you could hear online players during single player.

A Twilight FPS/Platformer game featuring Justin Biber and The Jonas Brothers ... Made by Valve in co-operation with Bioware.

That makes me feel sick even thinking about it.

If Valve started publishing with Activision, which would seriously be worse than if they closed shop altogether. Also the usual "if all games were totally multiplayer" thing, because I play games to take part in an interesting world and it's kind of hard for a world to be interesting if it involves homophobic 13-year-olds yelling at you through crappy headset mikes.

Once Ubisoft and Activison control everything I'll stop gaming.
