-No more mining
-Option to toggle the weapon/power menu on and off instead of having to hold down the buttons.
-Better control
-If there are recruitment mission, then have them all available to recruit from the start
-Make sure your game is bug/glitch free before releasing it,i hate getting stuck on a box.

That's pretty much it....

Remove the damned Morality system.

Yeah, I know it's a staple of the series. It's also the only part of the game which is genuinely terrible. It punishes you for roleplaying, and it sucks out all immersion.

Don't try to fix it. Don't try to improve it. Just leave. It. OUT... pleeeaaase!
Or, at least revert to the ME1 system, where taking the middle route didn't bar you from all of the late-game options...
Exactly. you could use middle road options, but give points to the extremes when leveling. It made for a realistic character; real people don't have to practice being nice, why should Shepard?

My only complaint with Mass Effect is that the third one hasn't come out yet. If there were a such thing as a perfect RPG, then it would be Mass Effect 1 & 2. People can say what they want but most of those things will cause balance and gameplay issues. I think Bioware has a winning formula and should only add, not alter.

First off, for all those saying 'female turians': http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/6058/femaleturian2.jpg and http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/7775/femaleturian1.jpg Yes, I am aware it's just in one of the comics, but we have official art of turian girls.

Second: The Thermal Clip/overheat hybrid: This was the initial plan, but playtesters hated it. So it was removed from the player, but if you pay attention to your squadmates, you can see that's what they tend to do with weapons.

Third: As long as ME3 involves homeworlds that are not Earth, I'll be happy.
The female turians aren't as cool as I was hoping they'd be... Sad.
They were exactly what I had expected, to be honest xD (And I was quite glad- I would have been disappointed if there was massive dimorphism between males and females, or worse, they looked like 'human' women. ... speaking of, someone earlier asked why 'humanoid' seemed to be the most dominant body type. Aside from ease of modeling and helping players empathize with them, it's also mentioned in one of the games/books/comics that it just seemed to be the winning evolutionary path.)
I guess I was just picturing more... um, horn things on their head? Sort of like this:
http://nwalme.deviantart.com/art/female-turian-concept-175820718?q=sort%3Atime+favby%3AYanarada&qo=3
I agree though, I'd prefer them to look similar to the males and not be too "humanized."
I would like to see less humanoid races as well. I always thought the Elcor were kinda cool. Mostly I just like their way of talking though ^_^

1. No more thermal clips.
2. Bring in a supporting antagonist who isn't simply being controlled by the reapers, but is actually following them willingly. Or at least let them have a voice.
This would destroy the lore. The point with the reapers is that nobody wants to help them.

Levels that are actually areas where you can move around and take a few different routes, not just really long, narrow corridors which squirt hordes of bad guys at you at regular intervals.

Well the least they could do is let whoever is being controlled actually have a voice. The Collector General in Mass Effect 2 only ever spoke when Harbinger was speaking through him so I don't really get a feeling that the general is actually my enemy.

I want the infinite ammo at the cost of overheat risk back. There was nothing unbalanced about it in 1, it worked.

I wish they would change the paragon/renegade conversation system. As soon as I see the blue convo or red convo options I know that that is the best way to deal with the situation no matter what. I think it'd be more fun if we had to judge the situation; should I use a diplomatic solution or a forceful solution. Different characters would respond differently to different tactics. A krogan might respect the use of force where as a batarian might see it as a challange. A system where diplomacy or force can actually hurt the situation rather that always been the right solution.

Another idea, possibly a fix for the morality system.

I think the main problem is that you get points in either paragon or renegade for selecting their corrisponding choice, seems pretty basic. The problem though is that all the paragon choices make Shepard a pussy, while all the renegade choices make shpard a sociopath. I propse a system based off of Alpha Protocol's dialoge system (BTW, AP is still noe of the best RPGs released in the past few years, fuck you otherwise...) Have the Charsmatic option, the proffesional (nuetral) option, and the agressive, hardass option. And on top of that, have three different variations. So if you dont press anything, you get the non paragon/renegade dialoge, but if you press the left shoulder button or something, you get the paragon versions, and if you press the right shoulder button, the renegade variations.

This is less to deal with the paragon/renegade points, and more for the roleplaying part (as, unless I havent been told, Mass Effect is a RPG, right?) This way, you can have you goody-too shoes paragon and madman renegade, as well as a charsmatic renegade and a hardass paragon.

Also, I'd like to see more crew interaction. Seeing Jack and Miranda fighting or Tali concerned over Legion were great moments. I'd like to see all these great personalities interact with eachother more.

Turn it in to an action/adventure. I love RPGs, but Mass Effect doesn't want to be one. No matter how hard it tries to convince us otherwise.

And I'd probably add a competitive(tdm, ffa, ctf)/cooperative(horde mode style)multiplayer mode. I'm a Halo guy, and I'd probably never touch it. But it's nice to have a good multiplayer to mess with when you're done. So long as it doesn't over take the actual singleplayer, no ranking systems and other bullshit either.

I think I've discussed that with somebody in the Halo fans group, but my opinion still stands that this morality system shit has to go.
I agree. It instantly sets something up as a good or bad choice, like the decision to rewrite or destroy the heretic Geth. Some choices are subjective.
Yeah but I like the whole choice root like that. That certain scenerio (and some others) shouldn't have had clear-cut right and wrong choices. I think the guys from extra credits did an episode on moral choices in gaming and talked about this.

I want to see Ashley come back, yes I've said this like a million times but the fact still stands, she's my favorite female character of the series to date and not having her around kind of killed the experience of Mass Effect 2 for me.
Also can we bring back the guy who actually wrote her dialogue, Chris L'otile? (Or however you spell it?)
I know it's silly but I want to see my pretend relationship reach a happy pretend conclusion.

Also I want to see a few more missions that don't involve exclusively gun fighting, and the experience needs to be more focussed. The loyalty missions in Mass Effect 2 were great for characterization but it also meant that the actual immediate threat of the Collectors was pushed to the side completely.
For Mass Effect 3, the Reapers are here so let's go fight them. Rally up support for an army or find technology that can overthrow them.

Finally I want the choices I've made in the past to have actually mattered by this point. I think that's fair.

anc[is]If you have to keep the thermal clips (the trailer seems to show they are still in. Grrrrr...) at least make them universal like you claim. It pissed me off when I realized you could run out of sniper ammo but my shotgun and pistol are just sitting there being useless. Seriously, the default shotguns are useless unless you are close enough to make out with the enemy.
The problem with that is that shotguns are extreme close-quarters weapon. In real life, if you shoot something from 20 feet away, it will do very very little damage if any. If it had range you might as well call it a rifle.
I hope you realize any real world argument like that can be instantly overruled by adding the prefix 'space' to it, correct? It's a space shotgun, make it so ;p

A god-damned Persuasion skill.

Seriously, the only thing an aliment-based persuasion mechanic does is punish me for playing a neutral character. It's particularly onerous in a game universe like Mass effect where pretty much every NPC is neutral and most situations have seemingly morally ambiguous solutions.

At least they would be morally ambiguous if they didn't categorize everything Paragon or Renegade.

Now, I like that earning points in one doesn't negate points in the other; I felt that was a wonderful idea and really helps to carry the character. Nevertheless, I feel like the game would be infinitely improved if they just did away with it and took the Dragon Age approach, i.e. game never judges your choices, just lets you pick and live with the in game consequences.

The problem with point-based morality is it drops the role-playing to -10 because you start picking choices based simply on the points they'd give you rather than role-playing. My favorite character in Dragon Age was a manipulating mage who would have been rated Angelic if the game had a morality system, even though she did everything simply for the influence it gave her over others.

Or at the very least give us persuade options that only pop up if our alignment is within a variance of center. Anything that will let me play my character MY way.
I agree with this completely. I try to play my renegade characters as guy who will make the good choice solely because it benefits him better than the bad one and all that does is end up making me paragon.

I would like a skill tree system. The ability to choose whether your solider becomes a unstoppable battle tank or focus on aggression would be nice.

Also, the universal cooldown...get rid of it.

No mining. Seriously. I can stand the thermal clips (though barely). I can stand the kinda crap morality system. But the required mining (for the ship upgrades) just made me want to cut myself.

I'm not bashing you for your opinion, but considering that the first two games put an emphasis on morality, it's highly unlikely that they'll get rid of the system in ME3. Perhaps in a spin-off game maybe.

OT: What I'd probably like to change for Mass Effect 3 would be ME2's RPG elements. Compared to the first game, while it wasn't eradicated, it did felt a little dumbed down. Perhaps if it they brought back customization of armor, guns and the like, (but no bringing back ME1's horrid inventory system.) I would be happy.

FEMALE ALIENS! Christ, It's been two games and the only females we've seen are asari and quarians. (And rachni, but that's kinda iffy.) While I appreciate the idea of introducing new alien species, I want to see ALL of the species, not just the males.
