Here is a hint. Dont get a 360, this is going to be the 360s worst year, with no decent exclusives, the only one really being Alan Wake, and that is coming to PC any way, get a PS3, as some one who owns both, I am glad i got mine, this will truly be an awesome year for the PS3
What's the big deal with exclusives? Especially if you own both systems. BTW, when was The Lost and Damned released? This year? And it's outsold Killzone 2. that blows your argument out of the water.

If the OP is thinking about buying the Arcade 360, he probably doesn't have the kind of cash to spend on a PS3 at the moment either.

OP. As has been said by other posters, a 360 would be a sound investment, but I would also suggest the standard version, with the basic hard drive.

Remember that if you want to play with other people, you're gonna need another controller, which is going to cost ya. Also, if you want to play online, that's gonna cost you too.

Also, I'm pretty sure that the standard version of the 360 comes with a HDMI socket these days, but you'll probably have to buy a HDMI cable for it.

Deciding to buy a 360 gives you access to a greater selection of platinum games, and new release games are often a bit cheaper on the 360 than the PS3.

I have both the 360 and PS3. They're both awesome machines, but for someone with limited resources, I'd definitely recommend the 360 for best value for money.

K.

I did not use Killzone 2 as an example of exclusives any way.. I was giving the OP my honest opinion, I have "HAD" them both, and I would not go back the Xbox 360. Short term it is fine and dandy, wait till some thing goes wrong then the Microsoft overlords kick in and they are such nice people.

Microsoft are one of the worst companies to deal with period. The sooner Mac gets more game support im jumping ship.

Plus as Lost and the dammed cost MS 50 million to get the Exclusive contract for, They are going to make a Killing on that....

Stop sticking up for the Xbox.Let it stand up for itself from now on. Tell you what ill do the same.

Go google Exclusive for each console, and decide your self.

And why are Exclusives important? Well they make the console unique.... Derrrr

Please don't Derrrr me.

Well, as the consumer, or user, what does it matter if the console that I choose as the best solution for me, is unique? Do I get a better experience with that particular console that I would with a different console, just because it's unique? If that were the case, I think that I would be using my Wii a lot more than I currently do :)

I would suggest the middle of the road as well. The Arcade is fine if you buy a 500mb memory card and don't plan on using your xbox for more then a few games, and no other multimedia. I can only suggest the elite if you really want to download lots of movies, because with the addition of the HDMI cable on all new Xboxs, and the improvements of the jasper, the Elite just has more space and looks cool.

So for all practical purposes go with the premium (the one with the hard drive but is not black) because it will give you some breathing room for media, installs and game saves.

Helpful aside: If you can try and research how to pick out a jasper(its a new xbox design model), apparently they're better/more reliable.

for games I would suggest
Bioshock,
Mass effect,
dead rising(because its fun and cheap),
L4D(if you have friends online),
gears of war(both 1 and 2)
Ninja gaiden
This one is filled with wisdom far beyond his years. Be prepared though: Dead Rising is a challenge to start. YOU WILL DIE A LOT. But it's totally worth it when you get high-level and can take out hordes of zombies with little effort.

If you happen to be a Naruto fan, give Naruto: Rise of a Ninja a try. An interesting combo of fighting and platforming. Did I mention you can download the Japanese voices for free, so "Believe It!" will no longer ring in your ears?

Prey is an odd shooter you might like. Some enjoy, others hate on it.

Bully Scholarship Edition is a nice game to grab, as is Dead Space, though you may want to rent that one first to see if it's to your taste.

Ignore Oblivion in favor of Fallout 3. The leveling systems alone make the case.

And Saint's Row for some silly, over-the-top GTA-style fun. Take this over GTA4.

Haven't heard anything bout' these jaspers though.

There's different colors? I never knew that. Can someone tell me where to get one?
Some come bundled with games. The red one comes with Resident Evil 5. Other ones, I'm not sure.

What's the red bundle? And why would I need an elite for Resident 5?
The red elite bundles is a red elite and Resident Evil 5 and costs $399.99 which the same as a black elite that does not include any games, so if your going to buy Resident Evil 5 anyway its only $40 more to get an elite with Resident 5 compared to a standard 360 with Resident Evil 5. So it would be $40 for 60GB more hard drive space, but only if you already planned on getting Resi 5 when you get a 360.
