I miss games like Kinetica and XG3. And i wish i could see more titles like them, but that probably won't happen. Unrealistic drivers are one of the only types in the racing genre that i really enjoy.

I too miss those fun futuristic racers. I have fond memories of wipeout and F-Zero, god I'd love to see another wipeout game...at least I still have wipeout pulse.

Wipeout is alive and kicking, and seriously, do you need anything else?!

I'd like to see a new futuristic racer like Wipeout come out on the PC. I know quite a few people (myself included) who play racing games with steering wheels on the PC and while NFS and some sim style racers are great it would be nice to have something thats just great fun.

Agreed. I'd also like to see more of those, especially on PC. With crazy jumps, car-mounted weapons, and all that.

A PC version of Wipeout Pulse with updated graphics and even customizable racers would just be orgasmic. Pulse was a rather complete and perfect game, but giving you the option to either build or modify your own racer with parts like in other racers would have just made it ultra perfect. That would have such a fun online play to it.

Yes! exactly this. i realize asking for this is only feeding the needs of the screaming 13 year old with ADHD inside me, but it's all i could ever ask for. I haven't played a wipeout game since the N64, but the only series beside it that comes even close to this aspect of a game is, well, mario kart.

mario kart games have always sold extremely well, and i think it has less to do with the actual "mario" aspect of it all. those games are all pretty damn fun, it's one of the few titles on my wii that i still find incredibly entertaining. maybe devs should look at the phenomenal success of a series like that before thinking that people only play sims nowadays.

Yeah, but i'm not really talking about DLC. i'm thinking more along the lines of a full release title, with tons of maps. A release of kinetica 2 or another extreme G game would be great; even if it's a new title, it's not incredibly hard to make up some crazy machine that can go 300 MPH and jump 500 feet into the air. it doesn't have to be realistic or something usefull; that sort of defeats the point anyway.

I still had the first one for pc from way back.
I got my friend to try and make it work on my tablet BUT INSTEAD HE STOLE IT FROM ME.
I'm tempted to try pirating it just to play it again, all i can remember of it was that the fourth rider you unlocked was like the third best in the game. (i never unlocked sebulba WHO APPARENTLY HAD A FLAMETHROWER) that and the fact that i am awful at racing games.

I'd guess the year 2000 happened. Physics engine capabilities became much better, and I suppose the whole Tron thing kind of fell out of favor in the early 90s anyway. Incidentally, a lot of sports games were more far-fetched before '98 or so. I remember Mutant League Football fondly, good kooky fun. Anyway the gist is, realism is becoming easier to achieve, so now creators tend to focus on realism rather than creativity now.

Far as I'm concerned, Madden 09 looks great, sure, but I'll dust off my Sega any day to play Mutant League Football, for a laugh.

I demand a new F-Zero game for the Wii, that's keeps all the things that were included in GX, like the difficulty....It's been a while since I've had a controller smashingly fun time.
