a bunch of 13 year olds hwo think they're cynics are gonna say none, but to an extent they all love their fans a little bit, I mean the instant you become a company you don't lose your soul or anything.

Now on topic, I'd say Valve and Volition are definitely two that get a big thumbs up. both are very quality game developers, and both support their games well.

I find it hard to believe that almost nobody has mentioned Atlus. Sure, they're a game publishing company, but they almost always add limited edition goodies and the like on release dates. Atlus USA also listens to what fans have to say about their localizations, and almost always improve their translations and voice acting efforts with each consecutive game. (compare Persona 3 and Persona 4)

Valve loves their PC fans. I don't think they give a fuck about anyone else.
Thier fans are PC players. They started out as a PC Developer, and thankfully are one of the few studios who have stuck with thier main priority being that group - unlike alot who've run off to milk the lucrative cow that is the console war, whilst giving lip service to the PC crowd that birthed them.

Valve flip that around, concentrate on the PC/Modding commuities which made them great (CS started as a HL mod, which now must have made them alot of money) whilst throwing out console ports when bugged by the publisher.

Which means, technically, this qualifies them even more for a "Developer who treuly loves its fans" - it loves them enough to not want to run off after another group of fans in an attempt to steal thier money. Unlike, say, Nintendo...
I'm a Valve fan but don't have a PC, they do exist. I understand what you are saying though and I do respect Valve's decision to focus on the PC community. Does not change the fact that there are console playing Valve fans like myself who get the short end of that stick.

I would say Capcom, DICE, Valve, and Nintendo. They always try to make sure their fans are happy.

I would say Bioware, but then EA bought them. So I'm gonna go with Gearbox cause they realeased some quality DLC with Borderlands.

Unless they're indie. Or insane.
I agree with this

Valve definitly, they listen to the public a lot and even when they complain, Valve does all it can to persuade them.

Bungie as well, a lot of community interaction by those guys.

and maybe Bioware since they are releasing their next peice of DLC for free.

Valve hates gamers - episodic gaming sounded like a great idea before they screwed it up.

Bungie, BioWare, Bethesda and Blizzard are cool, though.

EDIT - And Volition. Just completed Saints Row 2 for, like, the third time and I forgot them!?

Oh yeah, definitely, because they're still making people pay 15 bucks a month for a game that is slowly and pathetically dying out. Oh and you spelled "definately" wrong.

1st person to respond got it right. Valve doesn't care about you because it loves you. Valve cares about you because it loves your money. Sorry, thats the way it is.

The 'cyincs' are actually quite right, but in a way so are the fans. People who make games do it because that's what they love to do and of course are most likely gamers themselves. So of course making the fans happy (to an extent) is a priority. BUUUUT on the other hand, people work in an industry to make money. That's the way society has become. People can do what they love, and make money, so they do it.

So, in essence, the main question is rather difficult to answer, because as much as a developer may love its fans, they do it to fill their wallets at the same time.

Valve and Bungie. That's about it, since every other developer has either milked it's franchises beyond reasonable levels and to the expense of good gameplay, or has screwed over it's customers on some occasion or another (I'm looking at you, Ubisoft...). Bungie and Valve are the only develoeprs I can think of who have done neither of those. Plus Valve offer free DLC, save on consoles, which is solely down to Microsoft's greed. So they're high in my esteem for that too :).

Oh yes of course, because it is inconspicuous to have a generalized name, my bad. By the way, did you come up with that one while crying to mommy about how some bad man ruined your night?

It was about around the time your mom asked me why I couldn't visit her more often...Its really too bad I'm so busy.
