avatar. i loved that movie.
Never heard of it.

I rarely see movies these days, so I never really take any chances, and I stick to what's proven for my $15 ticket.
I'll get back to you on this- I gotta think this over.

Also, Requiem for a Dream. That movie will forever by on my list of best movies ever. If you haven't seen it, go watch it now, but prepare to be depressed.
Spun's better.

Also gonna list The Last Unicorn.

hmm. sucker punch is all i can think of at the moment really. well that and a really old blaxploitation film "im gonna get you sucka". seriously check it out. it is so funny i almost pissed myself a few times during the movie (thank god i watched it at home). but if you dislike the racial stereotype humor, then you may not want to see it.
i find nothing wrong with it, and neither does my dad, so don't make this a racism mini-thread. (im white btw) we know it is all in good humor, so walk into it as that, not as some really racist writer making a movie.

this is my dad btw, a couple years back when he had more hair.

Russian Ark. I only heard about it because it is the only full length movie (94 mins) to be filmed with a SINGLE steadicam sequence shot. It's so dam pretty that you'll need to watch Inglorious Bastards afterwards to restore your masculinity.
i actually did not enjoy inglorious bastards. in hindsight it was not bad. good even, but when i saw it i was bored because i thought it was going to be a comedy. and a couple of times they had chances to do some stuff that could have been really REALLY funny (like the borderlands-esque name flash and subsequent intro for the one character whose name i cant remember. and Brad Pitt failing miserably at speaking italian, couldve been goddamn hilarious)

My all time favorite "Some Girls" (1988) [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098356]. Previously named "Equilibrium" is great too.

Also, this thread is kinda hipsterish.

Its Kevin Smith's 1st movie and definitely one of the best movies from the 90s.
I found that film really boring, but then again I am well known for my pretentiousness.

A Serbian Film on the other hand...

Jokes apart, I really like [Rec] and Oldboy, neither of which seem to be very famous here in the UK.

Everything's Gone Green, Tokyo!, This Film is not yet Rated, the Darjeeling Limited and Exit Through the Gift Shop. All great movies, though I recommend Tokyo! above all with Darjeeling as a close second.

*GASP!* No, you are wrong and your opinion doesn't matter! Kidding of course :p

Its not an action explode-y bang boom movie so it obviously doesn't cater to that audience. It is a dialog centered comedy with a low budget, but its good because the dialog & comedy is well written and performed and it launched the careers of Kevin Smith, Jason Mews, Jeff Anderson, and Brian O'Halloran as Director/Silent Bob, Jay, Randal Graves, and Dante Hicks respectively.

Also, Oldboy is great.

I don't mind talky movies as long as they're clearly heading in a particular direction. Clerks just felt aimless, like a series of not particularly amusing events strung together for no purpose.

At least we agree on that.

that sequence after 2 minutes is complete bullshit, every single guard has clear line of sight on him, and theyre guns were all at the ready, theres no way he could of killed them all before they shot him. sorry i just had to get that off my chest.

other than that though, i love this film, its the only film i like christian bale in too.
