What do people know about the MGO component of the game? I heard it would be like a basic package and then new things would be added as downloads. To Jigs I have to say that for a Japanese developer they have really done their research into the realism of the game.
I'm guessing their ar'nt enough people online to play/comment on. Shame really, I'm curious as to how "online" gameplay works with metal gear. "previous trailers dont show much"

I couldn't play the beta >_> didn't preorder it and my dad wouldn't let me. Heard if eveyone plays it like a tactical game instead of a frag fest in CoD4 then it's a blast.

Screw Metal Gear Solid 4!

After all the damn hype this game has been getting it's hard to think it won't be a disappointment. Now, MGS and MGS3 were awesome, but do you know why MGS2 was so bad? It's cutscenes were way too freaking long and the plot, in the second half at least, flies all over the place with Kojima pulling the Dues ex Machina shit by saying that "It was staged by the PATRIOTS!" in every 3rd sentence.

As for Konami censuring EGM, that's nothing new. They don't want spoilers to get out before release. Someone mentioned Raiden's premature release in this thread (He he he...premature release). They also don't want shitty game aspects to get out before release, in which case they maybe shouldn't have people review the game. Konami must have been hopping to build up further hype by giving gamers a person in authority, a reviewer, handing the game unbridled praise. That crap may have worked with Kane & Lynch, but cons to a Metal Gear title simply won't slip under the radar that easily.

I will say this: 90 minute cutscenes is an impressive feat; it pushes the evelope in terms of performance. But I also pushes my patience. Seriously, what the hell? This isn't cinematic gaming, this is watching a movie. Hopefully there won't quick time events to force you to watch them.
Zero Punctuation much?

Metal Gear Solid 4 looks to be an impressive feat of gaming in it's graphics quality and (as usual) high-anti storyline. At worst I wouldn't mind a full-length movie for cutscenes. At best I would enjoy a movie mid-game. I don't know why everyone[/generalization] is uncomfortable with that.

Alright so the Game has a 8 minute install time. After that they say its 2-3 minutes on acts. To be honest thats really not bad for a game thats this big. The reason why some (now almost all) games install on the PS3 is because of how Blu-ray differs from DVDs. See when a disc spins the outer and inner layers move at different speeds and Blu-ray unlike DVD (which can read at different speeds) can only read at one speed. By dumping stuff onto the HDD of the PS3 it improves load times.

Also just a heads up the PS3 can take almost any 2.5" laptop hard drive so people who are having trouble with the space can upgrade very easily.
