here in illinois, US, it's 17 for girls, 16 for boys. i don't know why the age difference, but there you go. and i don't mind it, though i didn't really stick to it. when you fall in love at 15, two years is too long to wait, and i'm glad i didn't.

It's 16 over here in Washington STATE. But if you're over 18 and you try having sex with a 16 year old, it's illegal.

I personally think laws that govern people's relationships are just stupid. If people want to do something that personal let them do it. Of course I'm probably completely wrong.

Well people will argue that a 16 year old isn't mature enough to make their own decisions with who they want to have sex with.

I might be biased by all the stupid younger teens around here. Some of them making some stupid decisions (walking around alone late at night, hanging around the seedy areas of town, etc)

And the younger adults or even the older adults aren't equally stupid?

16 here in Finland, but there are exceptions to the rule, and they're done on a case-by-case basis. A 17-year-old can probably get away with having sex with a 15-year-old. It's not set in stone.

I live in Indiana, and we have to backwards, so our age of consent is 16, but it's illegal to perform oral sex if you're under 18.

Age of consent in the United States is different than in other countries too. Under a lot of state laws it is legal for a 14 year old to have sex as long as the partner is within a 2-3 year age range

I'm not sure about all of Canada but I think it's 14 but only if your within 2 years of the other person's age. I might be very wrong though.

I'm pretty sure that's correct unless your talking about sodomy, that's 18 in Canada.
