I've only been to a Coldplay concert, and it was a pretty good night. I'm going to a Gorillaz concert tomorrow so I guess I'll see how it goes.

Only been to 1 concert. Birds of Tokyo, with Silversun Pickups supporting. Absolutely awesome.

Most energy would have to be Kittie/Autumn Offering. Just good thrash metal with all the moshing, surfing, and headbanging that implies.

Best production would be a tie between Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, and Nine Inch Nails. Those guys put on such elaborate shows you swear you're watching a circus production. I did have the privilege to catch Rob and Alice on the same night. That was awesome.

There was so much energy in the room. I honestly have no clue why people say they are terrible, they played their songs very well missing only a few notes. Everyone was having fun in the room, no one had to be rushed to hospital, no one was raped or anything and when Through the fire and flames came on, it was just incredible

I guess it's from that one youtube video and a few of their first major gigs being drunk. Maybe originally they weren't that great but in December 2008 Rock City, they were incredible

Got to agree with you on this one, although I think the venue helped a lot (The Barrowlands in Glasgow), packing so many people into a small room really pumps up the energy. This was before the whole guitar hero thing took off.

Yeah apparently they were terrible at download but in smaller venues it was incredible. I suppose the GH thing didn't 100% help them but come on, listen to the lyrics. Do you really think you are getting a deep and philosophical band when you sing about dragons, wizards and magic?

Slayer deserve an honourable mention, for sheer brutality.
But best, either Alestorm, or Mastodon the 1st time I saw them at the start of their Crack the Skye tour (Only downside there they didn't play Blood and Thunder, but that was forgiven when they did the 2nd time I saw them that tour).
Actually, another strong contender, Heaven and Hell, becasue no one ever will again :(

Friday night of Bloodstock 2010.

Opeth, Meshuggah, Ensiferum.

Seriously good, especially since Opeth are my fave band.

My best concert is probably Metallica in Århus, June/July 2007. It was my first major concert, 50 000 people in all, and I got a spot right up front at the middle of the stage. Even though the entire sound system blew after the second song or something, they just picked it up right were they left and the facemeltage could continue.

The other contender would be AC/DC in Stockholm last summer. I have just three words for you: Angus Fucking Young.

The best gig I've been to was easily Enter Shikari last year. Everything was great, never seen a crowsd react quite like that in my life.

Reel Big Fish deserve a mention too, the atmosphere was brilliant.

I've been to 3 concerts: Linkin Park, Coldplay, and Staind. Linkin Park was the best one because of the atmosphere, that was crazy. Staind was next(in a much smaller venue) but pretty good(with a hardcore guitar player compared to the rest of the band). Coldplay was third, the band was great but I couldn't get myself to enjoy the show because my parents were there(It's weird I know).

One of my favourite gigs ever, of all time, was Alexisonfire at the Camden Barfly. It was incredible. Sold out in about 10 minutes, tiny venue, completely packed, the heat, the intensity of the atmosphere, everyone had a great time, the band ended up in the crowd and the crowd ended up on stage.

I will never forget certain moments of losing it completely at this gig :)
Sounds great, I've been to the Bar Fly so I know how small it is, assume they were upstairs.

For me best concert was Crystal Castles at Roundhouse Camden. A lot of the fans also agree, best thing ever especially since I got to meet lead sinder Alice afterwards.

I saw them before at Latitude but it was spoilt when someone in the crowd grabbed Alice's tit so she fliped out and beat them up.

Seeing them again next year at Brixton. No one does live like CC, she doesn't crowd surf so much as walk upright on people's hands. Plus she often takes bottle of wiskey with her into the crowd and shares them with people.

I remember this - but from the angle of production/licensing and having to deal with the issues that followed. Would have actually liked to have seen the band perform properly though, they've got some kick-ass tunes

i've been going to gigs consistently for the last 9 years and i recently photographed all my old ticket stubs. Turns out i've been to over 200 gigs over this period, so picking one that stands out is hard. one that does come to mind is Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at glasgows legendry King tuts. I love their 3rd album "Howl" and they were touring it quite late on after the release of the record because of label issues, so in this tiny packed venue they played all the song of theirs that i loved, pure heaven

Ooooh... Toss up between Fintroll, Moonspell, Kamelot, DropkickMurphys, and The 69 Eyes. Each off them a slightly different genre, and each of them were just.... WOW!
