I can't count the 2007 Warped Tour since I found it somewhat forgettable, although seeing Protest the Hero and The Devil Wears Prada was pretty cool. That being said...I can't say anything. I've had so many opportunities to see bands like Tool, Lamb of God, Black Dahlia Murder, Megadeth, and Nine Inch Nails only to miss them. I can't even find any sites that would have a list of bands coming to Costa Rica. Sucks.

Metallica at Acer Arena, Sydney, on the 13th of November. I'd been waiting for that moment for years, and never thought the day would come. They were absolutely amazing.
The earlier shows in September at ACER were amazing too!

Were you lucky enough to get floor tix or did you get stuck in the nose-bleeds? I managed to stake out a spot next to the gate where they run in, got full hand high-fives from both rob and jaymz as they ran past. Lars was literally surrounded by bruisers and was hiding inside a blue bathrobe.

Yeah, I managed to get mosh tickets, and a spot right on the barrier. I returned home with 3 Metallica picks and one Lamb of God pick. Unfortunately, I was just out of reach for high-fives. Lars did the same thing at the gig I went to; hid behind a blue bathrobe when he was leaving the stage. I thought it was a little odd, but I'm not going to hold it against him; the show was amazing.

Which album(s) did they play when you saw them? The one I was at was mostly Master of Puppets, only 1 Load/ReLoad song and none from St. Anger. I was kind of hoping they would play a little more from Ride the Lightning, but you can't win 'em all.

They managed to play a huge variety of songs, some from Kill 'em all, Ride, a few from Master of Puppets, only Fuel from load/Reload, only Sandman from Black album, no St. Anger, only 3 Death Magnetic songs (no Cyanide though T.T) and they even managed to get a Budgie cover, Breadfan I think, in there too.

It was quite funny with the Budgie cover, no one around me knew who they were!
It was my ultimate moment of win when a 19y/o knew who they were talking about, but some supposedly veteran metalheads didnt xD

Did you get a good pyro show when One was on? They did the same thing when they play Fight Fire With Fire, HUGE pyro during that song, it was almost constant.

A lot of people might whine at me but
Dragonforce

There was so much energy in the room. I honestly have no clue why people say they are terrible, they played their songs very well missing only a few notes. Everyone was having fun in the room, no one had to be rushed to hospital, no one was raped or anything and when Through the fire and flames came on, it was just incredible

I guess it's from that one youtube video and a few of their first major gigs being drunk. Maybe originally they weren't that great but in December 2008 Rock City, they were incredible
*whine* *whine* *whine*... no wait, DragonForce live was awesome.

Not that I've been to a lot, but Blind Guardian in Philly a couple weeks ago, was pretty incredible if I do say so.

I saw Roger Waters's The Wall in Washington, DC. The show was awesome, especially when they tore down the wall at the end.

Probably a Ratdog show I saw in St. Louis four or five years ago. Weir was paying tribute to Johnnie Johnson who had recently died, and on top of that the played "Althea" in the second set...hands down my favorite dead tune.

Ratdog at Liberty Hall in Lawrence, KS, and Phil & Friends at Starlight in Kansas City were also great shows. Even though I had to leave before the second set at the Phil & Friends show because I started breaking out in hives......

Friday night of Bloodstock 2010.

Opeth, Meshuggah, Ensiferum.

Seriously good, especially since Opeth are my fave band.
Yeah that was a goooooood night. Plus Opeth's set was better than the one they did two years ago in the same slot.

I'm a bit stuck for my own pick. I'm thinking it's between the Judas Priest/Megadeth/Testament gig at Wembley, Blind Guardian, Sonata Artica at Islington Academy or Bloodstock 2007 if you count festivals.

That's because Blind Guardian are always amazing. Never let the fans down. And Dragonforce aren't bad either. A lot of energy and a great "let's just have fun" atmosphere

My top 3:
Iron Maiden (also Iron Maiden/Dream Theater this past year)
Ten Years After
Mighty Mighty Bosstones

Three very different bands, and I'd be in heaven if I could live those concerts over and over again.

Bands I've been desperately trying to see in the last 5-10 years:
Flogging Molly
Reel Big Fish
Sonata Arctica
Three Inches of Blood
Alexisonfire

It's a shame their lead singer is no longer in Dragonforce, regardless who they get they will never be the same again
Oh that's so lucky, I would love to see Blind Guardian. Their new album is incredible

I've been to two concerts in my life. Both times I copmplained that the music was too loud & ranted about how terrible live versions of the songs were.

Nightwish. It was the first time they came to the US, And it was the best concert I'd ever been to. If you ever get the chance to do so, see them live, they're incredible.

Turisas was awesome...

... but the best gig I've ever attended was the Bloodhound Gang.

And to top it off, me and my mates spent the night drinking and partying with the band. We were the last ones in the club, and just when we were about to leave, Jimmy Pop suddenly plopped himself down on a barstool right next to us, addressed the barkeep and said, with a wide sweeping gesture of his arm, "We'll have that half of the bar, please"
Madness ensued. Epic, epic madness. xD
