Most of these posts just show teachers making innocent mistakes or joking about.

the teacher was insulting the kids intelligence in front of the entire class. also the kids mother just died and she is making fun of him.
I don't think she was insulting his intelligence, like a lot of people have said she was probably just referring to how it takes time for these issues to fully sink in.

I've never actually dealt with a death but I can relate in some ways. With things like break-ups for example I can usually hold back being upset until the next day when it really hits me.

I had an 8th grade U.S History teacher who commented on the Terry Shiavo case (back when it was the top story in the news) "Well, she's not really there anymore and is nothing more than a vegetable..they should just pull the plug and save everyone the trouble."

I promply stood up and said that her comment was out of line. I'm not consevative by any stretch but I do detest people who think a human being has no worth simply because they're currently unable or no longer able to communicate or move their body.
no offence to you, but the family was essentially trying to keep alive someone who isnt quite aware they even exist.

Her opinion wasn't entirely invalid. Personally i'd rather die than be completely paralyzed for 15 years, If she was still self-aware then I can barely imagine how distressing it must have been.

Well, a teacher of mine once told me, that life was just a list, of dissapointments and defeats, and you can only do your best, and i said "Well that's a fucking cop out, your washed up and your tired, and when i get to your age well, i won't be such a coward."

I have to agree that JFK was a lousy president but not because he was killed, but because he really didn't do anything.

OT: I have a teacher tell me the civil war started over slavery, he also said the UN had never been in any wars as all and was nothing but pure win(not what he said but it's basically what he meant).
Don't forget that he basically encouraged the Veitnamise generals to have a hostile takeover, which left the South Koreans weak and leaderless and with no strong powerbase, making them an easy target for the rest of the war.

Plus the missile crisis, trying to stop the mafia while sleeping with a don's partner... the list goes on.

It was a fun history essay.
Wait what? I'm confused now.

Earlier this year, my U.S. history teacher told us that there had been no terrorist attacks on the USA since 9/11. Of course, she didn't count the Christmas airline bomb incident, the Fort Hood shooting, or that time when a Marines recruitment center in Times Square got bombed. A few days after she said this, that whole Times Square car bomb thing came along, as if to call bullshit on her.

EDIT: I just remebered a time a few years ago...
There was a mandatory few days in our county schools where some lady had to come in and tell us not to drink excessively, have sex excessively, smoke excessively, etc. One time she made a remark to the effect that alcohol companies wanted people to get into drunk driving car accidents, because they somehow made money off of it. Another time, she said that alcohol companies put subliminal messages in their commercials and even the labels on the bottles. At the time, my dad worked for a beer company, so I wasn't going to take her bullshit(prolly wouldn't have taken it even if my dad worked somewhere else).

Her:"Blah Blah Blah subliminal messaging, blah blah blah."

Me:"I have a fridge full of beer, a rack full of wine, and a cabinet full of liquor, and I never have the inclination to go drink any of it."

Kid sitting behind me:"Party at [name]'s house!"

The whole classed laughed, and she hated me sooooooooo much.

Same teacher for each of these comments:

- "Well, women are superior to men in every way. All men can do that women can't is pee standing up."
Thing is they can. Just it wouldn't be a good idea.

It's like when people say females have an extra hole.

..No? Guys have one too. It's just at the end of a fleshy rod.

I already dislike this woman for her sexism, if she meant it.
She meant it. She enforced different rules to girls and boys in the classroom when I was still a wee little lad. Used to chat to the girls during lesson times, but when I tried to engage in conversation with my female friend, I'd always be told to get on with the work...then she'd go back to discussing Hollyoaks with her favourite pupils.

Locking the boys of my class out of my form room and handing the key to the girls, telling them to not give the boys access, was the last straw. We made a complaint, simply because her evidence was "girls don't cause mess", but in the end all she did was give back the keys. Still raged about how women were superior to men. She taught me for Media Studies as well as English Literature, so whenever there was sexism in the media she would glower as if it was the boy's fault for the collective stereotyping of Western culture toward women, and when I tried to point out that some stereotypes (such as all guys having pictures of naked women on their walls) was equally as sexist and somewhat insulting as some female stereotypes, she point-blank refused to believe I was ever insulted by anything ever, because I was male and therefore the world fell before my feet.

Yet I was still inferior to women.

I never quite knew where she stood. I mean, I find it odd to argue that "women have it worse" and "it's best being a woman". Strange lady.

Once I got run over by some girl in middle school who was running down the wrong side of the hall (we had a "road" system going on to "improve efficiency," whole other story). A teacher busted my balls for shoving her off and when I said she had crashed into me the teacher replied, "How could she have done that if she was on the other side of the hall?" To which I should have said, "How could I have shoved her if she was on the other side of the hall?" But I didn't think of it until I was already in detention.

But my fav was my old, dumbass Web Design teacher. She insisted we print out copies of our web pages (her desk was covered in papers, and she had to test all the links and interactive bits in class). I tried to tell her we could just e-mail them to her, but she said she "didn't want to have to wait to get home before she could grade papers, or have to stay at school." I didn't understand at the time, but then I realized she thought she could only access her personal e-mail from her home computer and her professional account from the school; she didn't understand she could get at both from any internet accessible computer. The fucking Web Design teacher! Ignorant as my crusty dad!

I spent the rest of the semester subverting the school's security network to watch youtube and download SNES games. What a *****.

I had a teacher who said Miracles happen every day

I replied: There's no such thing as miracles in this world only accidents, inevitabilities and what you yourself do.

The teacher kicked me out of the class because he thought i was a bad influence and encourging atheism.

During English class one time I made a "gay joke". Not in the "hurr durr durr faggots" kind of way, but in the "let's ask my male friend to marry me" kind of way. After I told my friend "I loved him and I wanted to marry him" the teacher said this:

"EW! THAT'S SO WRONG! THAT'S NOT NATURAL!"

Sigh, I thought we had gotten past that as a society.

In short, he did a lot of stuff that caused problems further down the line. He just was able to cover it up at the time.

EDIT Excuse my idiocy, it's just been pointed out that I mentioned different people there.

Replace all the times 'Korea' was mentioned with 'Vietnam'. It should make more sense then.

Teacher: "You are stubborn and I hope you are good at something because you aren't good at math"
Next day in the school paper I get distinguished for a math contest. I can't imagine how she felt after she saw that.

Frank Turner, my good sir. Love Ire Song to be specific.

One of my teachers way back when I was a midget (15 I guess) said that "Games are what makes a killer... all that murder, people just can't tell the difference".

I didn't say anything, some people aren't worth talking to about certain subjcts.

Yeah, still not explained what the hell the North Vietnamese have to do with the South Koreans, given that the Korean war happened in the 1950's and JFK wasn't president till the 1960's.

"Dogs can't have dreams because they don't have a soul."

Surprisingly it was said by my music teacher not my religion teacher = P

-Edit-

Oh and also during an I.T class one of my friends and I made a really quick asteroids clone and when we were looking for where we compiled the exe my I.T teacher said "Open it in Microsoft Word, it shouldn't matter as long as you can find it there".

To this day I still have no idea what he meant.
