I always found that when i had long hair (only cut it last week ^^-My 0 key doesn't work-} it is not the fact your long hair... it's the fact that you are doing somthing different, anything different to standing about eating chips and laughing at people usually gets stuff yelled at me¬¬, but thats what makes me me... i am wierd(not saying long hair is wierd}, i admit it i wouldn't want it any other way(maybe with wings, but thats drifting off the point}
Anywho... there is nothing up with being different, don't let people get to you ^^, best way to be

It seems in the north of England there is some kind of feud against guys with long hair. Walking in to town I inevitably get yelled at out of car windows for it and I get persued by chavs because of it. What's your thoughts? becasue I don't see anything wrong with it
Where in the north do you live? I used get some serious abuse when I lived in Manchester, but in Sheffield, where I am now, nobody gives me any trouble.
yeah I live in manchester it's such a sh*t hole

People give me crap for having long hair, but hey most of them are old balding men.It does not really bother me.
Yeah. I like having longer hair, but my dad disagrees... But that's envy, he used to have a lot of hair, but he started losing hair when he was about 30.
My grandfather use to give me crap about having long hair, every time I walked up to say hello he would yell "cut your damn hair Hippie!".

I find no problem with men who have long hair, in fact I prefer it. That buzzed or above the ears look just doesn't cut it for me. (no pun intended) :)

um, not being from englad i have no idea what you are talking about. maybe its a manly issue? Guys with long hair = girls with facial hair, thats just my guess as to their motives.
Well, I have long hair, but I'm not feminine at all, think more viking...

I had long hair (down to my butt) and a beard (grizzly adams style) until around 6 months when I cut the hair and shaved it all off to try and improve my prospects at job interviews. Now i'm in a job and so growing it all back.

Overall, I've never known anyon to have a problem (or even take notice of me) becuase I had long hair. A big bushy beard on the other hand gets stares from everyone, but thats just jealousy.

That'd be why. The particular breed of twat...er...chav (no, wait, got it right the first time) you find in Manchester seems to be so threatened by anything that doesn't conform to their view of how people should be (i.e. just like them) that they feel compelled to attack it.
Pricks.

As a guy with shoulder length hair, I've not noticed any "prejudice" in the South

I am chinese and I have ridiculous manga style hair. Think of Dragonball Z, mix it with Kate Beckinsale and you get me.

It was the same for me when I lived in the south a couple of years ago there was nothing wrong with it but then when I moved up north apparently I'm a 'freaky gay'

I have really long hair... I do mean really.

Nobody messes with me, if they do it, it's just for laughs.

The problem for the most part, as I understand it, is when you become a man, you put away childish things. Just like how you get buzzed when you join the military, a man is expected to be well groomed and presentable. Now, for the record, I have no problem with long hair, however, if I were a CEO of a company I would want to present the best, most matured face to my associates as possible. It's a matter of style versus being practical. When you mature, you begin to think more on the practical side, so you get a shorter cut because you have more important things to worry about than doing your hair, and you want to show your face to the world, not hide it.

As far as the ladies go? When I had longer hair I got tons of them.

Next time remind them that Lennon had long hair. That should shut them up.

Lucky you! I get loads of stick for my hair. (about middle of my back and still growing! :D)

I don't care what people think, I have the right to have my hair whatever length I choose, and the people who mock me for it are just ignorant.
