Haha oh man, the UK is messed up for hair choices. Maybe 1 in every 100 guys has hair longer than a number 4 shave. My friend and I (Both with longish hair) sat in the airport trying to count the amount of people with long hair. It was counted on 1 hand, and they were probably all tourists.

Whacko if you ask me.

I've got hair down to my shoulder blades, never really been yelled at about it.
I guess it's just an easy thing to target, like having a colour or accent.

I've always had fairly long hair. At Christmas time it was down to my waist, but I just recently donated 18" to Locks For Love, so now it feels really short, though most people still claims it's way too long.

At least once a day I'll have someone call me "ma'am" but I don't really care. I take it as a compliment, them thinking my hair looks so nice it must be a female's.

The only real negativity I've ever gotten is occasionally being called a "hippie", mainly by my step-dad. Meh.

I have long hair to counter baldness, by the time it receeds to my scalp I'll be 80, and yes that is totally scientific I swear.

i used to have long hair, shoulder length actually. Sometimes I miss it, especially when I'm standing there with my hands on my hips and a brisk breeze rolls in, but then i think about what a ***** it was to maintain, and how you have to be kind of a girl in order to keep it from looking all snargly and gross.

Oha and what's a Chav??

I have long blond hair and its not a problem, because combined with stubble it makes me look like Kurt Cobain.

I love my hair... Though it's cursed to get excrutiatingly frizzy after it's wet. But oh well, cant fix all the problems with root boost can ya?
Mine is about neck length, so I kinda have the whole emo style going on.. And apparently the people in the U.S. don't like them. But that'll all change once my magnificent mane becomes shoulder length.

I hear the same about my buddies Moahawk. It's fuckin sweet and I applaud him for having it!!! It's like this: People critisize those who stick out from the norm, yet come halloween time, everybody dresses up to be somebody else, somebody seperate from the norm. Who says we need a bloody holiday to look unique? People just speak such jibberish because they wish to be socially excepted, but that means they're around those who can't except them for who they are. Hair grows. It's unnatural to cut it every bloody month or two, less you look better with short hair.

Gimme head with hair
Long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming,
Streaming, flaxen, waxen

Give me down to there (Hair!)
Shoulder length or longer (Hair!)
Here baby, there mama
Everywhere daddy daddy

Meh. Long hair looks silly, in my opinion. I prefer guys who have shorter hair. I won't be so foolish as to base this thought of mine with any rationale and I certainly won't go so far as to abuse guys who do have long hair. Nevertheless, it looks silly.

It seems in the north of England there is some kind of feud against guys with long hair. Walking in to town I inevitably get yelled at out of car windows for it and I get persued by chavs because of it. What's your thoughts? becasue I don't see anything wrong with it
I know the feeling, I get mixed reactions to my semi-fro in scotland (its long and curly, and doesnt go totally down, but its not a fro :/) either having girls cooing over it, and boinging curls(occasionally guys as well, which is creeeeeeeepy) or getting shouted at, abused, and generally treated like an enemy, I tend to just ignore them though.

I live in West Yorkshire and I dont really get any trouble anymore, I dont know what made them stop though? I get my hair trimmed to keep it maintained but its still long and I live in a place with a high chav head count, I am not an angry person and I dont look threatening... I am 6'4... is that what it is?

I've got red hair going halfway down my back, so... I get noticed. lol Unfortunately, it does cause people to refer to me as "ma'am" sometimes if their nearsightedness is bad enough, but I never really catch any insults for it unless it's obviously in jest. ...Of course, wearing the trench coat nearly all the time might have something to do with that...

I don't know, to each his own I guess. If I wanted to judge someone I'd do it by skin color, not by hair length.
Slick move there, buster.

This kind of prejudice has something to do with the image of long hair as unkempt and scruffy. It's a little amusing when you consider that in Victorian England and the like long hair was a very masculine feature.

I don't care if a guy has long hair. Hell I haven't had short hair since 6th grade, and the only reason I had to switch to short hair again is because I had to volunteer for part of my major and needed to look professional while doing it.

They're Chavs. What do you expect?
I usualy expect them not to randomly kick me on the street like they do >.<
No way? I didn't realise the Chavs problem was that out of control?
We've got 'Lads' over here in Australia. Same deal but they're mainly just 13-15 year old skinny runt wannabes that I could probably take in a fight, if it was 1-2 of them and no more.

As for me, I've never really grown my hair past 'Beatles' length but I do cop alot of flak for my piercings.
I've got my septum (the bridge between the nostrils), Labret (Just under the lip) and the right side of my lip pierced. Also used to have the left done but a friend knocked it out with her drunk retardedness :|
Always copping nicknames from randoms, 'metalface' the most common. Some people are creative with names like 'shrapnel', or they'll even threaten to stick me to their fridge? which is kinda stupid seeing as it's surgical steel and not in any way magnetic.

I think you've just gotta face the world with the mindset that YES there are narrow-minded douches out there and there's not much you can do to change that (aside from carrying around a blunt, heavy object to deal out your own brand of re-education)
:D
