You gotta love Gears2! I can entertain myself for all too long by kicking around peoples organs after chainsawing them. Too bad the shotguns are so goddamn sheisty in that game.

This. I could barely bring myself to do it, I mean the game kind of trains you to depend on it and then makes you kill it?

The detail in Left 4 Dead 2, I mean I shot a zombie where his dick is for the hell of it and his intestines fell out.

Why have there been of these threads lately?
Search Bar people!
I...couldnt understand that at all. That sentence made absolutely no sense to me.

And i did use the search bar. I acctually searched several times using different words. Couldnt find a topic like this. Didnt know i had to be completely 'anal' about it.
Clearly you didnt search hard enough, this thread is as common as Mw2 threads
As i said didnt know i had to be completely anal about it. and search every nook and cranny of the escapist searching for this thread. Im also fairly new to the escapist forum so yeah.
lol, dude, looks like he's newer than YOU are lol.

Lets just say it's a good thing that Half Life 2 does not have better graphics...stuff gets surprisingly disgusting when you start to think about how some of the creatures would look in reality.

Oh, and then there is this whole "being trapped in some kind of worm organ while slowly drowning in blood" thing from Gears of War 2...

Giygas.
Prolly due to personal stuff, but nothing else fictional has instilled such fear in me as that thing did.

The screams from the crimson lance in Borderlands when you kill them with acid weapons. Seriously that still haunts me.

When I was younger, ReDeads from LoZ.

Now, it's those fucking splicers from Bioshock.
No, the big daddies and the little sisters don't scare me a bit.
It's the measly splicers.

The way they act.
If you think about it, it's completely realistic.
Most of us could turn into one of those in a catastrophe like the struggle over Adam.

But now after reading escapistraptor's (?) post, I would have to agree with him.

I was playing soul calibur 4 ( yea i know no gore ) but I was fighting some random character can't remember who but I think he grabbed me pinned me to the ground the pulled my arm so much that I heard every bone in it cracking. I paused the game for 10 minutes from the shock of what just happened.

Haven't played Bioshock yet, but I'm interested. I've also been warned about its content. Can't say that I'll be playing it at night after reading this TwT

The new gore system in Left 4 Dead 2.

Even as a hardcore veteran I cringe every time I see into the exposed spine and hip socket of an Infected from behind.

I'm far too desensitized to violence. I seriously grin every time i blow apart the back of a zombie or tear them in half with an explosive round. I love it.

That part in Silent Hill 3 where you walk into the room with the big mirror - and then the shit hits the fan (kinda).... I suppose it's not all that "sick", but that just really got to me on a psychological level.

Oh it gets better. If you time a grenade properly, and land it on the proper spot behind some zombies, you can create 'streamers'; you blow their bellies out behind them, and their intestines shoot through the air like confetti.

I'd go for Fort Frolic in BioShock, especially Cohen's poem. Gore is one thing, but that was just plain creepy. Gave me the shivers.

nah, Bioshocks not that bad. It's got some dark subject matter, but nothing very scary. Lost of suspense, not a lot of horror.

For Me though, the most disturbing stuff is found in Manhunt. I haven't even played it and I think it shouldn't exist. Oh, that and the popularity of Modern Warfare scares the shit out of me. It's a weird fucking world we live in...

I LOVE THAT POEM! It's my ringtone! (no, that's not true, but if I had a cell phone it would be! I'm thinking about making it my answering machine)
