the ending to the crazies because it leads to a cliffhanger sequel that is basically the same movie only in a city now of all things and the two main characters lived through a nuclear explosion... I MEAN COME ON DON"T DO THAT

The Village

It seemed so quaint and Tim-Burton-y with its gothic charms and suspenseful moment. Then the blind gril jumped the fence and made it to "the towns". One of the few times I ever raged at a film - I had actually liked it up until that point. Stupid Shayamalan twist ending.

The Golden Compass, as mentioned above

I loved this book from when I was a kid, and was already unimpressed with this feature. As has been mentioned, though, the Happily Ever Before ending made me broil with rage.

One that probably hasnt been said : Law Abiding Citizen.
Its like he just got retarded towards the end and it didnt really feel like he accomplished anything.
Also the Village for obvious reasons.

I understand what you are saying, but - too me - it came across as another way to show the audience what kind of d*ck-God there was in the Universe of this film. And I think the movie would have suffered a bit with a more happy ending, it would have stopped being 'canon'.

That's what I think.

Though it has been over four years since I last saw the film, so I could be remembering things wrong.

EDIT: Loved Brazil by the way
Oh, I would have hated it to be a happy ending, but it was just too bleak after all he'd been through. Perhaps the Evil eating it's way into the real world? But no more parent killing. Please. It's a grab for the heart-strings without justification, imho.

Law Abiding Citizen was a let down, but it sure was crazy fun!

I could have sworn that Gerard Butler was the office assistant's boyfriend and that he was pulling the strings with her. I was sure that Butler planned to have Jaime Fox become the District Attourney, so that a DA with a "true" understanding of the Justice System would be in a place to change the system for the better. Instead, we got Sad Gerard Butler with a trinket in his exploding prison cell, and while Sad Jaime Fox goes to a violin recital. I am disappoint, as we say in the ghetto.

some one said The Village and i'm going to have to agree. ever since that movie i never watch an M Night Shyamalan movie claiming to be scary unless it shows a rating around M15. Cause ive noticed all of his always hide the rating right until release.

But the one that really annoyed me was war of the worlds. turns out germs and birds won it for us, wtf?

But this is what I'm guessing the movie was all about: The Evil meant nothing, nada. God was just playing around, looking too make something new and in the end he destroyed his creation, because he could.
Him messing with our boy protagonist's life at the end is just another way of underlining this. God is all-powerful, all-knowing and kind of a jerk.
And I really can't see this movie ending any other way. And I think that had it ended another way, it would not have worked so well.
And to be honest, it was not really a tear-jerking (or heartstring-jerking) ending. The feeling it left you with was more of a 'WTF'-moment, making you think about what you just saw, thus leading to your own interpreation of the movie. And you already know mine.

Heh, hear me rambling on and on, but that's because I loved this movie, not as much as Baron von Munchausen, but still.

the ending of repo men(2010). It didn't bother me at the time, but it's starting to get to me.

not the worst, but I never say the worst.

I saw it aged 12, I think. I had nightmares for weeks.
Ohhh, um, wow... Sorry?
Seriously, though, there are FAR WORSE endings than Time Bandits, even if it was... Emotionally scarring... Heheh... Eh?

Worse endings, yeah. One's that bit down to your marrow after sweeping you along, not as much.
Carrie's ending is scary, but you're almost expecting that. Imagine if Back To The Future ended with Marty disappearing from existence in a paradox. That kind of WTF isn't good.

Most Saw endings pissed me off, Saw V especially. But that entire thing made me want to gnaw through cable wires. Seriously.

Antichrist. For any of you that aren't seriously masochistic, don't. Just don't. It's obscene while trying to be avant-garde but ends up being more annoying (and fucked up) that artistic. The ending made about as much sense as the rest of the movie: less than none.

I might have gone a bit off-topic there, as Antichrist has both a stupid ending as well as a stupid plot, but seriously... there are some images you just can't get out of your head.

The main difference being that the Time Paradox would not stimulate you to keep on thinking, for there was no deeper meaning; what the explosion ending did. But I can understand you personal dislike of the ending and I can imagine kids not really pondering on the question why a movie ended as it did, I know I didn't till a good five or six years ago.

I can't remember every crappy ending I've ever seen, but probably the most unsatisfying one that springs to mind is the ending of 'An American Werewolf in London'.
David changes into a wolf and goes on a final rampage. His lover tries to talk him down, the cops shoot him when she fails and he lunges towards her and his corpse transforms back into human form. Cue the credits.

The Village
If they hadn't revealed that the last creature was the retard, they could've made an acceptable open ending, but like this, it was just meh.

I am Legend
If you watched the true ending, you will agree. Apparently, the big ones thought that civilians couldn't handle anything than a christian happy ending and changed it.

Not gonna wade past the first page, but Nicholas Cage's "Knowing" movie was a giant WTF moment for me, and not in a good way. More of a "going to town on a girl and she leaves before you finish" sort of thing.
Eh, I was just happy to see the Earth getting all blowed up and stuff so... I left satisfied =)
Haha yeah, nothing was cooler looking in that movie than the earth being scorched... but story-wise, a total "...lolwut?" moment.

I am glad that for once the average Joe couldn't stop armageddon.
