Thats just Immoral. I have never had a Brit yell at me for being American except when I was talking about the Battle Of Britain with a friend and some Brit got pissed and thought I needed to know that they held off the Germans all on their own without any pig-dog Americans. Which I had previously stated. Some people...

Isn't it the age old "Anonymity = Dickhead" ?

Seriously, there's a reason why I only have my mic open to friends and party members. I'd never play CoD online if I had to listen to all the little cocks shouting they're going to rape each other all the time.

Because my friend, when people realise that your not in arms reach of them and they can say anything without any getting a blonk across the knocking... They become what the dictionary refers to as arseholes. Regardless of race, country or political view, this isn't exclusive the 360. However this can be easily remedied by going to your settings and setting everyone but friends to mute. Problem solved, enjoy playing online.

And BTW why the hell is WW2 and McDonalds always brought into the equation (I mean seriously fast foods and a huge fucking war that killed millions belong in the same argument?)
McDonalds is probably brought up because Americans love going on and on about British drinking tea and eating fish and chips. I would say WWII is brought up since so many Americans love to go on and on about how they won the war as if they did it single handedly

As for the hostility on Xbox Live, well it's XBL. What else can be expected when your fellow gamers are a bunch of idiots with no accountability.

I like trolls. Talking with them is the only opportunity for me to exercise my passion for verbal abuse.

If you haven't noticed, 95% of Xbox players are either kids who's parents buy them everything they demand, or angry frustrated dudes who take games like CoD RLLY SRSLY!! YEAH FUCKING PWN YOU NOOB GO BACK TO HALO!!

And you pay money monthly for that. Well spent?

Never met a foul-moth, prick, racist, sexist or anything of the sort on Xbox Live. Sure some jerk-offs who friendly-kill me but that's expected.

I play Halo:Reach.

The most advanced players in any video game are always @$$holes. It's usually best to ignore them, or apply some sharp wit (preferably wit that isn't malevolent. Otherwise, you're asking for trouble). In short, be indifferent.

Tip to UK/European people: the only people who live in the USA that really buy headsets for video games are people who actually like to have fun with the game and casually talk and laugh about all the random things (aka me, but I don't have a headset), people who are like what you talked about, and people who want to try to disprove the stereotypes mentioned. There are also occasionally the people who just like to talk about that kill they just got. There are also the 8-13 year olds. We...we don't talk about those.

captcha: cycli(some screwed up letters) and some Chinese characters. Wtf? Does captcha even support Chinese input?

I was reading your post thinking, "stupid stereotypes." Then I saw this. I am really confused, when did heroin become a Scottish stereotype? Also, thought the sheep shagging was a Welsh stereotype. Does it go both ways?
It's also a NZ one(sheep shagging, for drugs it's more marijuana :(). As well as the fish and chip thing :)

I have a simple solution for this problem, either mute everyone or just go into a private chat with a friend, thats how I deal with rampant abuse.
Anyway CoD frustrates a lot of people sometimes and when people get angry they tend to rage at anything even slightly irritating, I say this because I do the exact same thing and if it weren't for me chating with my friends then I would probably be the guy arguing with you purely because it is a way to vent frustration.

That good sir is because in around 6 months of playing Reach when it first came out I only encountered a handful of people with mics which is probably due to the fact that lots of people are in party's in Halo, not necesarily in-game parties, just party chat. I say this because Halo doesn't kick you out of party chat in certain playlists to "encourage teamwork" like CoD does.

Allow me to introduce you to...

Wishing no offense to people who may fall into this category, I find that a good number of people who are assholes from the get-go for no good reason are usually morons.

Lies, lies and blasphemy, when I play with friends in demolition or some such with no party chat I frequently argue with Americans over nothing and more often than not they started the argument.
Also don't imply that Europeans buy mics only to badmouth people, its not true now is it?
I apologise for ranting at you but I don't like people who imply things in there comments but don't outwardly say them, once again sorry.

OT: I meant to add that a lot of the higher levels who play CoD have got there using, shall we say "questionable tactics" not boosting necessarily but just by using overpowered guns in a very irritating way like camping at spawns and whatnot, and that these people tend not to be the friendliest when they start being beaten.

Welcome to the world of the internet little one, I hope you'll find yourself at home here.

Hate, unprovoked hostility and unnecessary rage is our bread and butter here in this strange land where the porn runs like great rivers, and trolls march in enormous armies to do battle in wars they have no stake in.

During your stay you will without doubt, encounter many things that will frighten you, but do not worry, if you encounter something you do not like the ever friendly backspace key is you eternal ally.

Before i leave you, a word of advice: Be ever wary in this land, anyone, even someone who claims to be your friend, might rip you limb from limb if you extend them as much as a metaphorical pinky.
You my friend, are win on SO many levels.

Simply put; you are playing Call of Duty /thread

I mean it; Call of Duty nowadays has the most offensive players ever; doesn't matter what country you come from, they will offend, somehow. I've even listened to two Americans once arguing and they were from neighbouring states, which degenerated into accusations of who was more of a redneck and why their state was better. No idea why, but Call of Duty just seems to bring the worst out in people.

Did you read my entire post? TL;DR version: the only people who use headsets (at least in the US) are people who have fun with the game, assholes, and people who try to assert that not all (insert country here) are assholes. There's occasionally the uber nerd who says something along the lines of "LOLZ NOOB U DED I KEELED U WIF MASSIV HEADSHOOT", and then the 12 year olds.
