There are a great many things I come across on a daily basis that just make me think "You are a total prick, amoung the vast ranks of total pricks, there really does need to be something done about all these total pricks"

The point is she's the female version of the people who call each other "bros", wear their collars up and wear backwards, upside-down visors.

Pretentious, fake and overall the worst picture of American youth. People who pretend to be sophisticated, artistic and original when they're none of those. On top of that, they can't even be themselves. They copy what all their other friends do, which is set a standard image of "original" and tell their friends it's cool to be like that.

This is one of the main problems with social networking: it falls prey to the Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory, to the point where people (not all, but enough) choose to believe everyone else really care about their every little thought and opinion. Confronting this "Jane" and telling her you don't give a damn won't help at this point, she's convinced and any evidence to the contrary will be rejected and hidden from sight and mind. Save yourself some time and just ignore her, delete her as a friend, whatever.

You're going to come into contact with douchebags on the internet, but unlike in real life you always have the option of avoiding said bags of douche. The more liberally you use this power, the less annoying the internet becomes.
