A week of being extremely depressed and extremely bored led me to actually successfully construct a mermaid farm in Dwarf Fortress. After it had been running for a while, I was going over my stocks screen and saw a big stack of *Merfolk Meat Roast* and had a sudden, sick realization of what I'd been up to.

if they shoot me, I kill them, if they don't I don't hurt them, unless they annoy me, then I smack them, though I am a wee bit of a pervert, don't judge me!

this isnt my name said:
Killing Sif in dark souls. The music, he was limpng, did this attack, and ended up strugling on his back. I had to for the story, ut damn I wish I didnt have to.

Oddly enough I had no issue massacring firelinks inhabitants for humanity.
I felt bad about that, but he started it. Crossbreed Priscilla was much worse for me. I killed her to use her soul to forge an awesome scythe...and immediately felt guilty. She is completely optional, makes no move to attack you, points you to the way out of her realm, has lived a life of isolation, and asks "Why?" as you kill her. Man, I felt like such a dick.

WELP...

...In fallout new vegas, on my second playthrough, I went as a psycho evil melee chick.

I mean evil too. Naturally I killed everyone. Every person that I was capable of killing, died. I always killed them in the most disrespectful way possible, and when they were all dead, I would strip them, pose them, and then rape them. If there was a fire near by I would put part of their body in the fire while I raped them. Not sure how my female character raped them, guess she just used blunt objects or the barrel of her gun.

It was even worse than I can fully describe here. I mean, really, sometimes I would do a mission in the best way possible, just so I could betray the quest giver later. It just somehow felt more sadistic to me.

Got a few of these, namely cause I get into character a bit (backstories, in-Game-World-Consequences, etc)

Shooting every marine I could in the first halo game, made worse bythe admiration on their faces before I shot them. In CoD4 I discovered that you could shoot friendlies if you just clipped their sides. I always feel bad cause they joined to fight for their country and now their families get a letter saying they were killed by a insane ally...who was never punished (usually wont do this anymore)

A friend and I were playing fallout 3, and when we arrived at that ship city we killed some ladies bodyguard. As she left the room he layed down on a couch with his back to us (my friend was the one playing at the moment). So my friend pulled out a flamethrower and burnt him to a crisp. I felt bad even though I laughed gratuitously. Shot of some beggars head off too.

those as well as several rampages in gta and saints row. Plus the merciless slaughter of clones in State of emergencies' timed clone mode. They never fight back, and often just run away screaming or cower in some corner. My friends and I had contests to see who was fastest at killing all of them, pretended it was a future Hostel like reality game show.

I had a "what's wrong with you" moment. I saw someone playing through the first level of prototype. He specifically avoided the goal in order to go out and kill as many civilians as possible. He made a game of seeing how many he could kill at once, usually by throwing cars into groups. (This is why Jack Thompson won't let us have nice things!).

In the same game I had a moment too. One of the achievements is to run over a ton of people with the same vehicle. Basically that means rolling along the crowded streets of Manhattan and running over screaming people for about ten minutes. At some point you just think to yourself "what the hell am I doing?"

Mine was during my first ever playthrough of Fallout 3. I was wandering the Wasteland with my lovely little Mesmetron when I wondered if I could use it on Lucas Simms for his Sherif's Duster and hat. So while using a stealthboy, I snuck inti his house and while he and his son were eating I used it on him. Suddenly, Lucas started spinning around in his chair like crazy and his head exploded. Worst part was that it was in front of his son. I later did the Child of Atom mission and the son gave me the reward, saying how his dad was dead. Needless to say I felt bad for using his dad as a "test subject" for my theory. But then I killed every one in Megaton with the MIRV about 3 minutes later. Man...I'm an asshole sometimes...

HA-HA! This was my exact thought during my first playthrough of Fallout: NV.

I went the entire first twenty hours wishing there was "Some sort of bandana in the game I could wear on my head." About the twenty-two hour mark, I'm leaving the Crimson Caravan site, and along the street outside comes walking, waht do you know, a lone merc wearing the first Head Wrap I'd seen in the game. "I want your hat."

I discovered earlier that if you were far enough away that you could only see an NPC through a sniper scope, fired, and waited for the detected level to go back to hidden, that nobody sees you kill the person (Which I abused to kill all the NCR in front of Helios I for their armor to sell for money...good God).

I walked way the hell down the road, crouched, whipped out my sniper, took careful aim...BOOM! Ran back to the chick's corpse, picked up her head that had popped off and rolled down the street, took the Head Wrap and immediately put it on and then went on my merry way into Free Side.

"...I really just decapitated an innocent woman for a dirty rag...the hell is wrong with me?"

Oh, and of course when you have to kill all of the members in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary in Oblivion. "Well, I gotta honor the Night Mother, right?"
Vincent: *Dying* Brother, Why?

@Fieldy409: Tell me you were on the sidewalk crushing innocent bystanders for no reason, because that's what I did.

My crazy WTF moment would have to be on DDO where I have to defend the city from wave after wave of kobolds. I wanted to listen to some music and flipped to a radio station at random just as the fight started...

I ended up killing about 100 kobolds to the Nutcracker Suite... It was glorious and a little bit WTF since I couldn't stop giggling.

Oh, *these* moments, eh? I got plenty.

I remember killing off Sims in the Sims 1 and 2 by the buckets. Don't ask my why. I played a little more seriously for the third opus, but my "Ghost House"-themed lot required that I kill two full sets of Sims on the same lot. Fencing them off inside one-square rooms turned too sadistic for my tastes, so I turned to the testing cheats for help.
I did that to Mortimer's wife in Sims 1. I was generally terrible to my sims when I was in a bad mood. Felt kind of trippy to find out that Bella went missing in Sims 2 and I remembered that I killed her in the first one >.>

... I went out of my way to find a way to kill children in the Sims 2 (I cant even remember why).
I found that you could do it if you controlled anouther household and then invited the one you wanted round and Box-O-Death'd them. No social worker.

I think I experienced, in no particular order, Bioshock 2 multiplayer, Farmville, Verdonia, Empires & Allies, Team Fortress 2 "Sourcecraft" and Cafe World were only taking my time to grind endlessly for levels, with no clear goal or end in sight, and no bonus for doing so. Awareness of my gaming compulsion made me sick.

Sure, I've committed many unspeakable atrocities against NPCs. Mostly involving killing them somehow.

But the one that stands out to this day, was against a fellow player in Battlefield 1942. Map was Kharkov I think. Was a sniper. Shot some dudes, ran out of ammo, only had 2 shots in the last clip left. And then this other sniper guy stops right next to me and starts taking potshots at the enemy. I look at my ammo counter, then the guy's head, and I know instantly what I need to do. *bang*
