My god if anyone quote yahtzee I will be pissed..

To answer the question im not sure.. Maybe because PC gamers are more full on, with having custom made mouses, insane cooling systems and whatnot or maybe its the fact that a lot of consol gamers fall into the "Woooo bro! Halo!!' demographic
When have I ever said, "Woooo bro! Halo!!'?

I think it's because the 'hardcore' PC users have a superiority complex and can't seem to get it past their heads that consoles are for games only. Not for modding, hacking, rigging, downloading, making speadsheets, but for playing games.

I've been hopless at playing mouse and keyboard combo, prefering to play with the joypad, but I don't argue that joypad is better or keyboard/mouse sucks. It's only a preferance that falls to personal taste. 'Hardcore' (notice the quotation marks everytime I say that) PC users fail to see this as well. It's called being a fanatic.
I take offense to that statement, buddy. I consider myself a hardcore gamer (that happens to use a PC), but I sure as hell don't have a superiority complex. Just like how you just said you aren't part of the Halo-loving frat boy dynamic, I'm not an over-bearing PC using snob.

Despite the "j/k" tag there, I'd have to agree... Americans often think themselves superior to Mexico. I don't see many Americans saying Canada is inferior to the US... just not as awesome. But Mexico... the US is very culturist toward Mexico.
They're our little brothers :3

Point taken, but that's a pretty fine line. It isn't hard for that to be taken the wrong way (obviously).

That magazine doesn't speak for me. Why are you lumping together all PC gamers as haters because of a couple of cockheads in a magazine?

There are just as many haters on either side, you're just less likely to notice the ones that are on your side.

I think PC tards are a bit over confident in some cases.

If PC's are so superior, why are there a constant stream of PS2 and xbox style USB controllers being made for PC, to replace keyboard and mouse?

Why do no consoles bother with a keyboard and mouse peripheral if its so superior? PS2 had a keyboard usable for FFXI Online for PS2, and even had a gameshark input keyboard and what not. They can do it, but dont...why not PC tards?

My console may not be as graphically superior as the latest PC that cost almost $1000 more than my next gen console, but it also doesnt become insufficient after 6 months or after a few crap-tastic driver patches from Microsoft, or a constant stream of viruses and auto-aim bots that PC gamers love.

Also, is your PC monitor a 72" wide screen and support gold plated HDMI cables and display in 1080pi with surround sound? NO

Yeah, I also called them fanatics. If you get offended by that word then you probably deserve to (not you, just generally speaking).

Hmmm....I think one of the main reasons so many pc gamers think that they are superior to console gamers is that it's always more difficult and complicated to run games on pcs- I mean, console users never have to worry about incompatibility and system specs not being good enough. This leads to the notion in pc gamers that they must be superior to console gamers since gaming is not as simple for them. It is my belief, however, that there are just as many idiots who game on pcs as there are on consoles...

It's not just the magazine, all I can think about is people trashing console gamers. Also I am a PC gamer or claim to be at least. Though it's the weirdest thing. Up till about two years ago I only played console games, and that's all I did. I did nothing besides play games. 2 years ago, I got a PC and I actually played games far less. I now spend most of my time lording my computer over my friends, which is part of the reason why I started this thread. PC's do something to some people to make them offensive and rude.

No, those people were always that way. PC's just give them another means to wag their flabby phallus shaped egos around at others.

I don't know why people are so defensiveness of their PCs. likely because they put a lot more money into them. I personally have a PC and its almost like a finely tuned muscle car, so powerful it should be illegal, but you payed way to much for it. A PS3 would be like a European Sports car, A 360 would be a GMC (I think that they are the only American cars that don't spew shit all over you, or at least as smelly shit. Bad Reference for quality but you get my drift. Well someone help me with this one if you can) And the Wii is a Kia. A car that is great to give to kids because its cheap and no one cares if you trash it. And the PC well its a custom built car that cost several times more then the stock brands, but is twice as powerful and well a lot prettier.

Its not the damn money.
The point i was trying to make earlier, but that drowned in calling people "tards" was(adios, civil discourse):

1) Pc Games are better equipped for complexity
2) Conosles are not well equipped for complexity
3) Multi-platform games must be developed for lowest denominator
4) PC games becomes dumber
5) PC gamers becomes anuguished over negative console influence

Thats bascially it for the majority. Its not: "PC gamers are stupid", "Pc gamers are mad at all the money they spent", "Pc gamers are jealous" or "Pc gamers are smug bastards".

I love my PC, but the issue of inferior specs and crashing has always bugged me. I got a brand new spanking topoftheline PC, and its outdated in a few months. When I had a Dos386 it was the greatest thing ever for ages, and never bloody crashed.

Still, mouse will always be better for FPS.

They get the most attention. Thats why PC gamers like myself hate them so much. Only because console tards seem to like parting with their money for shit :).. Also about the rude thing.. Have you been on Xbox Live? Its where the scum of the earth live.

Because they're not the most efficient of controllers for all games. PC gamers acknowledge this and usually have other controllers.

Give them some more time. As consoles drift ever closer to becoming PCs themselves, they will gain keyboards and mice of their own. Also, see previous answer. The keyboard is the obvious choice in some genres, and doomed to failure in others. Those that would be doomed without generally don't make console appearances.

If you spent an extra grand over what a console costs and killed it after six months, you're doing something wrong and you spent way too much. I spend maybe that much every couple of years to keep both of my PCs up to date and game-ready, or roughly what a console user would spend, and, since I know my systems inside and out, they run in peak condition. I realize fully that's not your point, but I don't care at this point.

Surround sound, yes. I was an early adopter of that, and you're welcome, because early adopters like myself allow for the continued refinement of new technology. Eventually, it makes it's way into everything else, like you precious... whatever console you have. Also, if I had a 72" 1080p wide screen with HDMI, you can bet I'd be using that as my monitor, even though it would be a step down (detail-wise) from my 1536p 21" standard screen with DVI.

Oh, HDMI evolved from DVI. Next time you meet a PC gamer, thank them for that.

Since I seem to have lost the neutral tone I was striving for at the beginning there, I'll attempt to get it back here. I believe the PC gamer superiority complex (which it seems I have) stems from that the PC gamer is usually at the forefront of whatever's new. I would be thoroughly surprised if the next generation of console didn't come with physics processing of some sort. Both camps have their good points and bad points. Console gamers are virtually guaranteed that when they buy a game, it is simply going to work for them. PC gamers have no such luxury. If a console breaks, it generally has to be sent off for weeks on end for repairs. A knowledgeable PC gamer can be back from the brink in a day (assuming it's not too serious). Will any of this stop the flame wars? Hell no, but I'd be happy with a temporary ceasefire.

PC games have higher complexity due to a greater amount of available control, and a mouse is far more precise than an analog stick ever could be.

Other than that, we have to put up with compatibility issues, buggy games, patches, updates, copy protection, virus, damaging software, and other bullshit that consoles can happily ignore. It makes us feel like we must be more intelligent because we successfully slog through this shit when console players don't have to. Or, more likely, we feel angry for putting up with this crap and have to take it out on the people who don't have to put up with it.

Also, "console 'tards" flows off the tongue much better than "PC 'tards".
