I'm partial to a regional brewery [http://www.foothillsbrewing.com/]'s 'People's Porter.' Sadly it's seasonal and hard to find even in-state. It's only available in kegs and growlers...

On a wider scale, Rogue's Shakespeare stout is another favorite, as is Dead Guy ale, and I have lots of fond memories involving Bitburger. Unibroue's La Fin du Monde is among Canada's greatest contributions to world culture, alongside Rush and Mallomars.

It seems to me that American beers get a bad rap because our cheap, crappy lagers are so widespread. We've got a great variety of lesser-known and microbreweries who make great beers.

I'm not much of a beer aficionado, as I prefer harder drinks like rums and whiskeys, and most of my beer drinking experience comes from drinking from kegs at parties.

However, I've developed a taste for Keith's Indian Pale Ale because my roommate is a fan, and it is what he always buys.

Give me a pint of John Smiths or Boddingtons any day of the week... either that or Guinness and as far as a lager would go (not very) then I suppose Sagres isn't to bad...
We need to drink together.

The only kinds of beers I like are Darks and Pilsners.

That said, my favorite Dark is Guinness, and my favorite Pilsner is Samuel Adams Hallertau Imperial Pilsner.

Mmm....tasty.

You know what else is good? Mead. That shit is delicious mulled, too.

As far as beers, in general, I don't like to be able to see through my beer. If I can, I'm skeptical.

I always prefer liquor. If I had to pick a favorite beer though, it would have to be Murphy's Stout. Good stuff, that.

well since i just turned 18 last week, and before that i had to make do with the liquor i could scavenge from my parental units, i've had mabye 2 or 3 beers in my life (lots of vodka though) so i don't have much of a pallet, but there is a beer out there call Evan Williams (my name) so it is by default my favorite.

It's impossible to choose a specific one, but if I need to, I'll say Granville Island Brewing [http://www.gib.ca/] Hefeweizen. Buy a pitcher, squeeze a lemon in there, and it's the most delicious thing that's ever crossed your lips.

Runners up: Leffe Blonde, Newcastle Brown, Unibroue La Fin Du Monde.

In terms of domestic: Sam Adams. Best nationally-distributed American beer, hands down. I've always wondered if they serve it overseas in Europe, because if the only American imports you guys get are crap like Budweiser / Miller Lite, then that's just unfortunate :(

I'm partial to Belgian stuff: Hoegaarden and Leffe, namely.
I finished a case of Hoegaarden only last night, good shit.

I love anything imported from Belgium, Netherlands or Japan.
