To be honest i was looking for new bands to check out and thought this would be a good way of tapping into a collective
Then maybe try The Antlers 'Hospice'. That was the best debut album I've heard for a few years. Arcade Fire 'Funeral' was pretty good too but I'm sure you've probably heard that already.

Favorite debut AND my favorite album.
good choice although i'm not sure i would class that as a debue more of a best of (yes technically a debue but i had heard loads of his stuff b4 that album

i'm gonna go for "straight outa' newport" by goldie lookin' chain (but only cos i only just heard it)

"convenience" by 'when people become numbers' is also excellent (and not just because i produced it)
but their so obscure if u can find that one then I'll give u a cookie

KABOOM! ... which doesn't exist yet. I Fight Dragons hasn't released it yet, but I already know it will be epic because they have released two EPs already which are full of awesomeness. Think chiptunes crashes into Queen and gains a lot of nerdiness and epicness at the same time.

Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Audioslave and Wolfmother. Led Zeppelin and Foo Fighters went on to be great, Audioslave went on to be good and Wolfmother only kept the lead singer after the first album so they hardly carried on at all. And their new album sucks except for the last song.

Im a big fan of Megadeth's Killing is my Buisness and Buisness is Good. Its thrash in the simplest of forms, and you cant help but bang your head.
I loved that album when I discovered them, great stuff, not so great listening to it in rush hour traffic though... One of my favorite Megadeth albums.

OT: Korn's self-titled album, I instantly fell in love with them. Them and Kittie's Spit, and it's so different from their other stuff, but it's still good.

AC/DC's "High Voltage"...A relatively young pair of Youngs and their fellow miscreants showing the world what it meant to rock 'n' roll...

Also, AC/DC's "Back in Black". Technically it's a debut album for the band with Brian Johnson on the lead vocals. Also, solid, but then, that goes without saying...

I have a number of debut albums I'm very fond of. However, the one that stands out in my mind the most is Danzig's self-titled album. Consistently solid throughout and has many memorable tracks.

The Limousines and Foster the People were great debut albums. Still waiting on Barbara's album.

Is that Mushroomhead: XX or another one I don't know about?

My favorite debut albums are Broken Bells and Slipknot, incredibly different bands.
