The Opening theme to Killer Instinct. It's simply awesome.

One Winged Angel... still the best. IMO, of course. Liberi Fatali is a very, very close second. Eternity ~ Memories of Light and Waves ~ (or whatever it's called...) from FFX-2 is a very, very close third, and in fact if we're including pieces of music derived from a game, I'd pick the piano version of that as the best ever. It's unbelievably awesome.

In Half Life 2: Episode 2, you know that place where you have to set up motion-sensor turrets to stem the tide of oncoming Antlions? And to warn you of their coming there were these little lights that flashed above the tunnel where Antlions were coming from. This was all fine and dandy until all of the tunnels' lights started flashing. Then this song kicked in right on cue with this revelation and everything turned epic as the hordes of Antlions swarmed.

Certainly not my favourite song, but a really well-timed piece.

Half-Life 2's 'Requiem for Ravenholm' stung me well, but I'd also go with 'Sector Sweep' from Episode 2.

Funny that, Sector Sweep just started playing as I read your post. A cool little song, 'tis.

For me, I'd have to say Astral Observatory from Majora's Mask. A lot of music in that game was amazing. I'd even go as far as saying it's the best in the series when it comes to its OST.

Fallout 3's PC install files have the music available to you, "battle 1" and "Title screen" are fricking amazing
But best of all, Portal's "Still Alive" (the credit music)

Nobuo Uematsu is god to me when it comes to game music. "One-Winged Angel" was the first song that ever made me want to search out and import a game soundtrack. The battle theme from FF6 still gets stuck in my head sometimes. I laughed out loud watching Advent Children when Loz's cell phone played the victory theme.
