Be welcome to share any games you love to play, but no one else you know plays it because it received little to no publicity or that it got poor to mediocre ratings.

I'll start with mine: Brave Fencer Musashi, one of the relatively unknown games made by Square for the PS1. Some reasons I'm drawn to it is that
1) It has sentimental value as it was the first game I played that actually had fully voiced characters.
2) Most of the characters themselves were very likable, with many also being outright hilarious.
3) The powers, "dungeon" design, and boss designs/fights were, for the most part, very creative, with the boss fights themselves being fairly challenging. Also, one particular grunt enemy type was interesting enough for me to clearly remember them many years since my last play through; vambies, vampire zombies.

Anyone else here played it? If not, try to find it in stores if you have a PS1/2 (or the rare backwards compatible PS3), or hope it soon finds its way to the PS Store, I highly reccomend it.

You know. I will probably get a lot of hate for this, but FFX-2. (Unappreciated, not unheard of XD)
Most people thought it was a horrible game, probably because the story was total crap and the music was pop.

But hell. That battle system was fun! Faster paced than FFX, more involved than FFXIII and with a healthy similarity to the FF6, FF7 and FF8 like ways.

Edit: (i forgot to do the OP) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: back in the sewer (for the original gameboy) i played that all the time when i was a kid, if it only still worked :(

Psychonauts. It's well appreciated by the people who have actually played it, but it's not relatively well-known.

XIII as well, it sold terribly even though it was awesome, so we don't get a sequel.

The Exile series...and to a lesser extent, the Avernum one. The other spiderweb stuff tends to be pretty good as well.

Actually, that game has quite a large following (including me). I still drag out by beat up, worn out copy from time to time.
OP: Arcana Heart for the PS2. I LOVE 2d fighters and it is a solid addition to the genre that I really enjoy playing from time to time. Not too many people know about it. I guess DeathSmiles too, just because of how niche it is.

This. I prefer Geneforge myself, but whatever.

Also, Uru. The bastard brother of the Myst series that everyone forgets exists.

This. XIII, too. Both of them are just huge cases of this. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheyChangedItNowItSucks]

It was, but the game gives you the lovely option to turn that crap off entirely, leaving you to make up your own voices at will. I didn't do that but i wish i had. And combat really gets fun towards the end of the game when you have the proper cards to pull off epic combos. The ending was pretty generic but midway through the game i literally found my jaw dropped saying 'what the f***' in an excited tone several times. Best way to sum up that point of the game, where a lot of stuff gets dropped on you at once is Mind = Blown

Dogfighter by Darkwater games. Basically, the concept was/is a 3D flying multiplayer TPS (or FPS, you can change the view). It just hasn't taken off, despite a highly involved dev team and some giggle worthy concepts like aircombat inside volcanos or triplanes carrying guided missiles. Part of the problem was that people either wanted something as easy to dive into as a typical WASD using FPS, or they wanted another PC flight sim (despite the ads for the game starting off with "This is not a simulator"). Darned pity, because it's different from pretty much anything out there, except maybe the old Crimson Skies game.

Well, If I understood the first post, games that are under appreciated go as well...

I like the Medal of Honor reboot. (Single Player ONLY) Despite it being unforgivably short, it was really damn good.

Geneforge. Why? Because it's proof that you don't need shittons of money, a team of graphics programmers, and the backing of a publishing giant to make a good game. Genforge is proof that all you need to make a great RPG is a few dedicated souls, a comfy basement, the instruction manual to Fallout, and a cubic assload of imagination--and that's something I think we'd all like to see more of.

You can find it here.

It's so damn bad, that it's really quite fun.

So says Mr. Stewart.

I believe that the game, is not as unheard of as you think...
So says Mr. Steward.

Mine is Tombi for the PS1 (I'm not sure about how popular it was, but I never hear anyone talking about it, soooooo...)
