Hmm... 5 days a stranger is good, but I'm guessing it's not useful to say that to the escapists...

Alabaster's a great take on the old Snow White tale, if you like typing...

I'm going to have to go with Digital - A Love Story, though. Emotional, nostalgic and deep. Plus the soundtrack's great.

This. And now the thread can be closed.

Honestly OP, what were you expecting?
The only Truths of this universe are Firefly and Minecraft.

Limbo, since I'm not sure if the old game Theme Hospital (by Bullfrog) is considered "indie".

Cave Story, definitely.

Also, Exile III / Blades of Exile, although those games were released before the term "indie game" came about.

Terraria, didn't play it much when it was first released, but now they've added a few new things I'm playing it again.

Minecraft, Castle Crashers, and (if it counts) Plants vs Zombies.

Cave Story, Spelunky, and Desktop Dungeons are the runner-ups.

If flash games can be considered indie, and I don't see why they aren't, I'd say the entire Momentum Missile Mayhem series. Nothing relieves stress quite like dropping nukes on tank columns.

Mount & Blade - Warband.

Just to be different from everyone saying Minecraft. Plus I love medieval history and warfare.

Hmm, Eve Online if it counts. It had a publisher for 7 months but since then it has been self published (as an MMO, a lot of content has been created and distributed since then). It is an MMO in the purest sense that doesn't reward people abandoning real life to play competitively. It features an enormous player market that is pure ruthless capitalism, the EULA is very lenient on players giving you a very real universe with backstabbings, theft and piracy well within the rules. The PVP and PVE has a real loss system, with potentially billions of isk lost when someones Pimped out pwnmobile is killed.

I'd still be playing it if I had a working computer and a sec status that let me back into high sec.

Yes, that's an indie game. If the game was made by indie developers, regardless of how popular the game is, the game is still indie. (take minecraft for example) Amnesia scares the crap out of me!
In my opinion, either Minecraft or Super Meat Boy. But there are other really good ones as well. I love Plants vs Zombies, I forgot that that game was indie.
