Lately I've been having a lot of fun with Super Meat Boy. It's frustrating, but always seems like it's your own fault you died.

I like a lot of the stuff made by Derek Yu. Spelunky was awesome.

Magicka is the best thing ever if you've got a few people to play with.

AAAAaaaAAAAAA!!!! reckless disregard for gravity was also sweet.

And can't forget The Ball. :)

Yes, that's an indie game. If the game was made by indie developers, regardless of how popular the game is, the game is still indie. (take minecraft for example) Amnesia scares the crap out of me!
In my opinion, either Minecraft or Super Meat Boy. But there are other really good ones as well. I love Plants vs Zombies, I forgot that that game was indie.
I don't think anything made by PopCap Games could be considered indie.

Minecraft I would guess.

Multiwinia takes second place though (or maybe first since people may not consider Minecraft "Indie" anymore since it's so successful)

Technically Portal 2 is an indie game,

But I'm putting another vote towards mount & blade warband, the sheer amount of entertainment that game can bring as long as you meet it halfway with your own imagination is great. Plus the achievements for it on steam are fun to work towards.

I did like Minecraft, but after playing it for about a year, it really is starting to die out in me. Right now, I'm playing Dwarf Fortress, Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, Project Zomboid, and hopefully Dungeons of Dredmor sometime soon. Can't say which one is my favorite, but they are all pretty damned good (with the exception of Dungeons of Dredmor, I have yet to play it).

The Witcher has a lot of problems, but I really enjoyed it. Yes, even the combat. Haven't played 2 yet.

I'll say either Liberal Crime Squad or Space Station 13 for the moment (not on the goon servers of course). I think I may have spent more hours on Space Station 13 than on any other game by this point... and although Dwarf Fortress is great I've always preferred Liberal Crime Squad in terms of pure enjoyment.

Minecraft is a good game and all, but as far as great indie games go, it's nowhere near the best in my opinion.

World of fucking Goo. That was an amazing game, filled with fun and had a lovely story behind it. It's been a while since I played it, but I still remember how it all went and how difficult it got towards the end.

Torchlight and Trine. Trine is a fun Side scrolling platformer with alot of charm and Torchlight is a pretty addictive dungeon crawler hack and slash RPG.

Also, Exile III / Blades of Exile, although those games were released before the term "indie game" came about.
Seconded...though, mostly because BoE had some really great user made stuff. "Nephil's Gambit", for example, was significantly better, IMHO, that Exile 3, which is saying alot.

Neither works on my computer anymore :( The Avernum remakes just aren't the same...new fangled less attractive graphics, new fangled less intuitive controls, new fangled less interesting spells.

I liked Limbo and played it through in one run. Well it isn't that long...
Cthulhu Saved The World was quite funny.
And I spent a lot of hours playing Aquaria. I love that game. So sad that there won't be a sequel.
Not an indie game but not very well known, I guess: Edna & Harvey - The Breakout. Point&Click-Adventure. Crazy. I love it!
