Logitech G9 Laser.

I looked it up and actually thought it was some sort of joke at first. "Who would pay that much money for a mouse?"

Apparently I was wrong.

A cheap one from bestbuy that replaced my previous mouse (which broke). It says Dynex on it and it's black in color with rubbery grips on the side. I have absolutely no idea which model it is and can't be bother to track down the information but its safe to say that it's just a generic mouse.
If it also has buttons on the sides that control the "BACK" and "FORWARD" functions for the internet and similar windows, then I have the exact same mouse as above.
It does. High five my internet mouse brother!

I had been using my G9 years for 2 years, before the right mouse button died. I loved it so much, I went straight out and bought another one. (This time a G9x). Best mouse I have ever used.

This:
But with the colours inverted. Yeah. Surprisingly enough, only 2 buttons and a scroll wheel are actually necessary. All the other ones are just pointless noise that I'll accidentally brush with my thumb.

I use a cm storm sentinal 5600 dpi. It was 45 bucks and is the most ergominc I have ever used. It replaced a very old optical mouse made by razer that had been used so much the title had worn off the back. The cm sentinal also glows a variety of colors and very solid.

Coming to this thread made me realize how crappy my mouse is.

Can anyone recommend a good gaming mouse that is fit for big hands?

You could try a Logitech G5 or MX Revolution.

I would consider the sentinel I mentioned above to be a large mouse too.

Super responsive and you just feel like a total badass fragging people in UT 3 with this thing.

Logitech G5, serves me just fine and feels great.
The only problem is it's pretty ugly.

It's expensive but the Steelseries Xai is an excellent choice, the mouse itself is fairly large so if you have big hands it should not be a problem.

This is my favorite mouse that I've ever had. It's really responsive and comfortable to use, which are the two prerequisites to me buying a mouse

in other news, razer is a rip off. besides deathadder, and krait, and even those mices performance is garbage compared to the original mice they are based off of (Intellimouse 3.0, and MX300)

Good mice have good texture, good feet, and good shape. and of course good tracking.

DPI does not need to be more than 400, really, it doesn't. All you need to make sure is that malfunction speed and perfect control speed are good.
DPI is very, very important if usb speed is less than 1000.
umm, no, stop talking out your ass. DPI doesnt matter for 90 percent of players. Polling rate doesnt effect sensitivity at all. all that matters is perfect control(how fast you can move your mouse before it starts flipping out of control)

DPI only matters if you have like 3cm to do a 360.... and you probably cant hit shit if you have that sensitivity.

Oh yeah, on the fly DPI, is pointless, there are binds and scripts that chance sensitivity in game for most online games.

Higher DPI is better, there is nothing wrong with high dpi. Generally though, most of the new mice have shitty perfect control, and lots of input error bullshit that most new users don't even notice cause they are not good enough.

google esreality mousescore

I checked that esreality mousescore and it doesnt really explains things well, it is also old and outdated and focused more on low sensitivity players, also i think you misunderstood the whole meaning of this test.
High DPI doesnt only mean fast cursor movement using minimum hand movement. A high dpi mouse also generally tracks better which is very very important if you are like me and use high DPI.
So its very important to medium and high sensitivity players as i quote from the mouse test.
Low sensitivity gamers might not need as high dpi mice as high sensitivity players do but still high dpi is a big plus.

stop talking out your ass
Also that wasnt really necessary....
again, read the thing, higher dpi does not mean better tracking. The perfect control of the G5 is proof. Cause the instant you hit 1.32 meters per second, that thing just flips out.

High DPI is over-rated, and in 90 percent of cases, USELESS. 5600 dpi is stupid. FLAT OUT STUPID. Ok, fps games use degrees to determine mouse movement, and also hits.

In quake 3 the degrees per input on 1 sensitivity is .022 degrees for every input.

SO ITS MATH TIME!

.022x400xsensitivity

so for me

it would be .022x400x4.65 = 40.92

so for every inch i do 40.92 degrees

so my sensitivity to do a 360 is

8.7976539589442815249266862170088 inches for a 360

I have plenty of dpi for mid sense

also, lets do this in terms of resolution
FOV(field of view)

Fov is 90 in most games
so determining your dpi needed for apparent pixel perfect control(even though it is based on degrees and not pixels)

so lets say i use a 1024x768 resolution

1024/90= 11.377777777777777777777777777778

so you need eleven inputs per degree for pixil perfect input.

for a 400 dpi mouse

400/11.377777777777777777777777777778 =35.180299032541776605101143359719

so for absolutely pixil perfect aim at that resolution you would need

35.180299032541776605101143359719 degrees per inch @400 DPI for pixel perfect aim

in inches that would be 10.233000000000000000000000000002 inches

and that is absolutely pixel perfect control

but very rarely do you need this kind of perfect control. one of the best q3 players played at 400 dpi, no accel@ .028 degrees per input.

so that means his pixel perfect ratio from the "ideal" would be

7x400x.028 = 4.5918367346938775510204081632653 inches

10.233000000000000000000000000002/ 4.5918367346938775510204081632653

2.2285200000000000000000000000001

so off of the pixil perfect control he is more than 1/2.2 ratio

His pixil perfect control is way off and he was the best in the fast paced game of Q3 for years.

Again this is alot of math. But in simple terms it means HIGH DPI IS BULLSHIT.
