My town is famous for the airport scene in Die Hard 2. Alpena, MI had(and still has) the only available runway big enough to do it short of the one in New York, and they were using theirs.

PS, Bruce Willis is a douche.

Making people feel unwelcome and forcing them to move to Kansas City.

Apparently our city flag had a christian fish symbol on it. Had it there ever since 1990 or something. Then one day I assume the fish looked at someone funny because they moved from here to KC and then sued saying that the fish made them feel unwelcomed because of some seperation of church and state violation. Woo hoo backwards bible town USA. Aslo the next city over (which is more prominent them my small town) is where cashew chicken was made (no real opinion about that one, but maybe someone here just couldn't live with out it) Oh and almost forgot Brad Pitt is from that city too.

My hometown was the site of one of the bloodiest fights between farmers and ranchers back in the pioneer days. Farmers started moving away from the Platte River and into the Sandhills wanting to fence up the previously open rangeland and the ranchers of the day didn't appreciate no longer having access to the Platte River to water their cattle. There was a fight or two in my hometown. Five guys got killed in one of the fights as I remember.

My hometown of Novato, California is famous for our companies. Let's see we have 2K Marin (Bioshock 2) and Buck Institute for Aging, first research lab focused solely on aging. I think we have a few famous people here, but meh.

My town is famous for the invention of Rugby Football. (Popular British sport.)

Also, our two grammar schools are both in the top 10 in the country.

Also, Dame Kelly Holmes was born here. (Double Gold medal winning Olympic athlete.)

Also, we have the highest drug crime rate in the UK.

If any town is in need of a selling point, they can borrow some of mine.

Desmond Llewelyn lived here until he died, Eddie Izzard grew up here, Gareth Barry went to high school here (don't know what else), John Logie Baird researched here and lived here towards the end of his life.

Still a boring place though.
