I'm originally from Reigate, Birthplace of Steve Punt (Mary Whitehouse experience to any 30somethings, partner of Hugh Dennis of 'Mock the Week'), Fatboy Slim went to college in Reigate, tho not sure he was born here, and I know Katie Melua, Kate Bush and Dame Judi Dench all live fairly close .

Also Dame Judie Dench Lives there.

The town just down the road from me has a famous dockyard used for hundreds of years and has built hundreds of ships for the royal navy, it's not too far from the thames estury so it was strategically important
