my town is famous for dilivering the first large tv broadcast after the second world war (wow i didnt even know that) and we have a lot of dutch celebritys living here because its right next to the media hub of the netherlands(hilversum). but no one will read this as it is on the 6th page so i might as well say that 2 popes have been born here and one has chosen to die here instead of in the vatican. if you did read this send me a pm so i can apoligize for all my wrongdoings(yea right il just ignore you i just want to see if everyone here is realy a gamer and thusly has so much time on their hands now that they will read the 6th page

Taylors/Greenville-A church everywhere you go. Also Bob Jones. But we have a nice downtown that used to suck.

Oh, and a guy from our town invented the laser. And Jesse Jackson also came from my town.

I can think of three things.

1. A small rebellion that, according to the wealthiest media group in my country, gave birth to the most popular daily evening tabloid in my country.

2. A song that basically mocks the way the roads of this town were constructed in the 70's. This is practically THE thing that anyone ever remembers of this town and I'm seriously getting tired of people singing it when I tell where I'm from. It's not even a good song. Thankfully, people are getting old and someday all the people who remember that song will be dead. All I have to do is wait.

3. Mansions. Apparently there are lots of mansions here. I've never been to any of them.

Uhboy, lemme see...

The town I was born in is the birthplace of Ivan Reitman, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Neil Peart from Rush, both Red Green and his nephew Harold, and is where Vincent Price shot a children's show in the '70's. Oh, and the guy who wrote our national anthem was born there

The town I grew up in was the birthplace of Wayne Gretzky, Phil Hartman, and the guy who played Tonto in the Lone Ranger tv show, and where A.G. Bell invented the telephone. And the 'Silent Hill' flick was shot there too, but nobody cares about that.

The sad thing is, half of that I probably wouldn't have known were it not for Wikipedia.

San Juan
Oldest city within the US (counting the territories), founded in 1521. The city's fortifications also repelled an attack by Francis Drake, handing him one of his few losses.

Sweet fuck all.

I don't even live in a town, I live in a hamlet of like 4 houses and a farm stuck on the top of a hill for Christ's sake.

The nearest town to me does have the oldest licensed brewery in the UK though, been going since 1642.

And damn is that beer good :D

Supposedly Savannah's the most haunted city in America in competition with New Orleans, but I've never seen any ghosts.

*whisps away leaving a cold feeling in the room*

Being in Europes hall of shame...

The town which I live in has the highest proportion of underage teenage pregnacies in proportion to the teenage population of the town compared to anywhere else in Uk and possibly Europe (allegedly any way).

We were also once the key rail way town in England.

Go Crewe...
But you did forget about Rolls Royce being in Crewe

Correction it used to be, now its just Bentley and with the reccession, production has ground to a snails pace with the company possibly considering closing the factory and relocating to a new one in Germany. Irronically Crewe is also losing the Rail works! With more and more of the factory being steadily sold off relocated else where or not at all; mind you i'm not sure what the competition for the building of trains/rails and train/rails parts is like for the Uk anyway.
