Time for me to reveal (once again) my deep and abiding love of Tales of Symphonia.

In Tales of Symphonia, when you are under the Tower of Salvation and everybody starts dropping off like flies, I was actually reduced to tears... something that didn't even happen when my grandfather died.

When I was playing the Halo (yeah, the first one) demo on PC, and I found out I could sneak Warthogs up to the first Hunter encounter at the end of that mountain path.

...No, I take that back. I remember that being hilarious. A Warthog packed with 100% USMC goodness running over and shredding hunters with wild abandon and glee. Good times.

Sad? [NAME WITHHELD] getting Hunter'd (Ha! Cohesiveness! Sorta...) in HL2:Ep2. Or [NAME WITHELD] getting sniped in Valkyria Chronicles. I liked my
! She was the least annoying person on my team! And cute-ish. But she
! Sadness. That was almost as bad a hit as Rosie's singing...

And I know a lot of people had a hit when MGS4 ended, but for me, it was back with Sniper Wolf's death. Well, between Sniper Wolf and Emma Emeritt. I can't decide which was sadder. Either way. I'll go with Sniper Wolf, just for the music. The Best is Yet to Come, sung by Aoife Ní Fhearraigh. Something about Gaelic just makes for good sad music.

I remember crying over the ending of Secret of Mana when I was a kid, but I can't even remember how the game ended now. Guess I need to look up the ending.

And yea, I also got the sniffles when Aerith died in FF7. This was my first play through, without any walk through or spoilers.

:'( when Foe Hammer got shot down... My heart went with her I think, If the game allowed it I would've scaled The Pillar and searched for her.../quote]

Yeah, Foe Hammer was the awesome. Hearing it happen was made worse for me 'cause I read the books before hand. RIP Foe Hammer!

when Aeris 'died' in Final Fantasy VII. the music still brings a tear to my eye when I hear it

Also should this thread have a spoiler warning?
i actually have the music to that scene and it really mellows me out but yes i was upset when aeris died, it was handled really well and the fact that i leveled her up so much. Same with the ending of ff10 and kingdom hearts, buut the saddest bit of any game is in crisis core at the end with the death of Zack, it didn't bring me to tears but i lump to my throat.

The most emotionally intense scene in gaming history...
FF6: Celes' suicide attempt after failing the fish minigame at the start of the World of Ruin. Didn't even need fancy 3D graphics.
Trumps Aerith's death every time.

But the saddest quote in gaming history. "The princess is in another castle." (sniffle) I need a tissue

End of Halo 3, when Johnson dies... I was like "NOOOOOOoooo...damn it!" He was the coolest and funniest person in most FPS's. Also when Ben Carmine died... Almost forgot this one...when Rico didn't die in Killzone 2! He pissed me off more than anything, I'd rather have Radec as my friend. :p

when templar died kinda got to me as he died slowly and sacrificing himself for the isa but rico i wanted to die horribly
Yea, that got me too. I was surprised they killed Templar, caught me off guard. I was like "...damn...that sucks!"

When I beat Portal for the first time and Still Alive began playing. I literally shed tears, then I played through the whole game again.

Also, at the final cutscene of MGS4 where Big Boss appears and stops Snake from shooting himself, and then Big Boss and Zero die (Spoiler!) for real. The long explanations didn't even kill the mood. I am not usually emotional, but I fucking cried.

I have to go with CoD4, the ending to the campaign was awesome. I always like those sort of "go down in the flames" endings.

And to everyone who posted about Carmine, wasn't it totally obvious? I was playing co-op with a friend, and as we got to the rooftop I said,"He's going to die here." I can't wait to see what zany way the next Carmine brother dies in GoW3.

Sadly enough, end of Halo 3 when I thought Master Chief had died, I was actually really upset. Call me a fanboy.

I got angry-sad at Lucien for killing Root (my dog) in Fable 2. >:C
I hated Lucien for killing my dog in that game! I was just pissed.
THAT ************ I can't beleive he killed the dog in Fable 2.

The end of Drawn To Life. It was like a good game, had a good story. Then BOOM! Beautiful song and everything you've done and all of the beautiful memories of the people. And then you get a real happy ending.

The End of Metal Gear Solid 3. Where the game made you kill The Boss. I still hate Konami for making it so I have to pull the trigger, and it's not just a cinematic. Fantastic game though.

The second one would be where Galuf kills himself so the rest of the party can continue in Final Fantasy V
