The Christmas mission in Elite Beat Agents...if that doesn't make you cry, you HAVE NO SOUL.
I completed that song first time.
Why?
I did it so that girl could have a happy Christmas.

When my Appeal Counter hit "No!" (Impending Failure), I stuck at it and filled it again (which is an amazingly hard feat, even on Cruisin' Difficulty).
Why?
I did it so that girl could see her father again.

And I present to you other Agents...

"The Agents... They're all rocked out!"
"No! We must have FAITH! .. ... e.b.a... e.b.a... E.B.A. E.B.A. E.B.A! E.B.A! E.B.A! E.B.A!" All of the characters who the Agents had helped joining in.
And the *slam, slam, clap* of the audience becomes the intro to the Agents' comeback song.

I swear to the gods that I chanted with that girl, despite the awkward fact that I was playing it in class.

For a whole three seconds when I thought Shepard had died. Also a bit before if you sacrifice the one who you told to set the nuke a little cutscene will play showing them leaned against the bomb, fruitlessly trying to defend it as they watch you fly away.

For me it was in Fable 2 after the faithfull dog of my strictly lesbian character presented me with the 5th pack of condoms he'd found in the ground that day.

The saddest point in a game for me is usally those bits where the game explains what happend to the various characters over the years since your advenrture , those things give a good impression of time passing and therefore make me feel a bit sad

:'( when Foe Hammer got shot down... My heart went with her I think, If the game allowed it I would've scaled The Pillar and searched for her...

Maybe it then goes me trying to boom-bomb people near a rooftop edge (so they stumble back off the edge and either fall or get incapped- it works, ive done it before)... but then being meled and then my fat ass stumbles off the edge. Lucky survivors.

The most emotionally intense scene in gaming history...
FF6: Celes' suicide attempt after failing the fish minigame at the start of the World of Ruin. Didn't even need fancy 3D graphics.

End of Halo 3, when Johnson dies... I was like "NOOOOOOoooo...damn it!" He was the coolest and funniest person in most FPS's. Also when Ben Carmine died... Almost forgot this one...when Rico didn't die in Killzone 2! He pissed me off more than anything, I'd rather have Radec as my friend. :p

when templar died kinda got to me as he died slowly and sacrificing himself for the isa but rico i wanted to die horribly

[spoiler/] when Fara went over the edge I was traumatized. [/spoiler]

fable 2, the only moment that i felt impacted at all in the game was the very end when that d-bag said that he killed my dog and lesbian lover, NOT MY DOG YOU BASTARD!

Not a sad moment, just an odd one:

Playing Oblivion, 5am in the morning and I've finally completed the Thieves Guild quests. I'm testing out the Gray Fox cowl and get attacked by some guards, so I take it off so the guards leave me alone. Then I realise that Carwen (member of guild) has been killed by a guard.

Dont know why I did this, but I got angry and ended up massacring EVERY guard, in EVERY city, out of revenge.

Thats when I stopped playing Oblivion :)

MGS4's ending, mainly because there's no more Snake!
Oh oh, sorry for double post but the entire of the shadow moses level in MGS4.
Being back there, seeing everything fall apart and how old Snake was. It made ME feel old, seeing as how I had played the first MGS when I was about 9 years old and I played 4 when I was 18.

Nostalgia can sometimes be depressing.

Probably Maria's death in Gears 2. That, or having to kill 2 of my own buddies in a single mission in Farcry 2. People sob when Aerith dies? I was having pure rage after all that time spent grinding her up. I restarted with Tifa as my group healer.

well i got to hand it to kojima know how to write a story even though it is a bit hard to get, but all the better if you do, it's the only game where i actually cared about everyone i shed a tear for snake
