I hope we all realise that star signs use open-ended statements that can apply to anybody, regardless of which 'sign' you are.
Granted some of mine were rather open-ended, but some were fairly specific.

Though, I still don't believe in this stuff.
Physcics, horoscopes and other types of BS use these. There's a term for it, but I can't remember what it is. They spoke about it on QI. In the case of a physcic they could ask you, 'do you know somebody called John?' Now if you say 'yes', they say, 'I thought so.' If you say 'no' they can just say, 'you will soon.'

Oooh! Spooky!
I understand, that's why I said I don't believe in it. Like John Edward uses hot and cold readings (the terms I think you were looking for) when he is "channeling the spirits" of audience members' relatives.

Hot reading - using foreknowledge when giving a reading or details
Cold reading - using ques to obtain information about a person to give them details

You are referring to "cold reading," I believe.

Yeah, it's something like that. I can't believe that some people are stupid enough to believe it. Yet further evidence that the gene pool needs a little chlorine.

So I just found out about astrological birth signs and how they can be eriely correct when it comes to explaining someones personality. I'm an Aries and it pretty much has me pegged.
It's only correct when you believe enough to connect the missing dots and make it fit to you.
Trust me mate, these things are nothing but a description of a wide array of peoples attributes, and so there will always be something that applies, and when you hang on to those that are correct and ignore the ones that are not it all seems to hit the spot.

There were alot of studies done on this matter, and all come to the conclusion that birth date/star sign is in no way connected to peoples behavior or their attributes.

But it's always a laugh to chase your tail and guess as to how they know you so well :D

Scorpio apparently. I don't really believe in any of this astrology stuff, I mean we're in the 21st century. How could you possible believe that the position of some giants balls of nuclear fire billions of light years away could have any effect upon your life? Whatever.

And here's a description for Scorpios, at least from one source:
Reputed to be the "most powerful" sign of the zodiac, Scorpios lead fate filled lives and have intense and dramatic personal relationships. Even as children Scorpios are often found to be wise beyond their years. Many astrologers call this the sign of the "oldest souls". Old and wise beyond the average, Scorpios often know all the answers, except sometimes; they too often have difficulty finding what they need to develop their own happiness.

Passion, desire and power go hand in hand for Scorpios. Their biggest challenge and test in life is choosing between the power of love and the love of power. Coming to grips with their extraordinary emotional depths and sensitivity isn't easy for those around them. They are different from all other zodiac signs and this difference has them walking, working and loving to a different beat. Others can often live with a Scorpio partner for years, but not really know them. Much to do with a Scorpio remains ever secret. Their eyes often blaze with feelings that words never express, and beware on the days or nights they hide their feelings behind dark glasses, there is likely to be a storm of some kind brewing. When you deal with a Scorpio you have to always deal with them on a psychic intuitive level. They often wear a mask. Too often they say "no" when they really mean "yes". They have contrary natures. Once they find true love they can be the most faithful dedicated of all partners but fall out badly with a Scorpio and you are likely to find they will never forget or forgive.

Most Scorpios are winners. The main thing they have to worry about is their attitudes, which make up their mind powers and can either make or break them. When they are negative about something or someone, or critical of themselves, they can tend to get in their own way.

Scorpios operate on three levels of soul evolvement; adding up to three distinctively different types of Scorpios. The first level is the Scorpion. This is the least evolved and most drawn toward using their powers the wrong way. The criminal element of Scorpio comes under this level. Then there is the eagle - the highflying, entrepreneurial, successful Scorpio, who seems able to rise above adversity and transform bad-times into good. Then the highest expression of this sign is the Phoenix Resurrected. These Scorpios are detached and extremely powerful. They are wise beyond their years and act as leaders and are an inspiration to others. Quite frequently a Scorpio goes through the three levels of evolvement in one lifetime - but the levels can operate out of sequence.

Yeah I sorta fit into the description, but then there's the P.T. Barnum effect. Make a description vague enough and all sorts of people can fit into it. Plus we would love to see ourselves like how they describe us, so we work ourselves into the description. Then of course there are the things that sound deep but aren't. "Scorpios often know all the answers; except sometimes." I don't know about you but that sounds alot like everyone.

Oh and apparently my planet is Pluto. Fuck you science! I'm backing Pluto, along with indigo. Taking the 'I' out of ROY G. BIV. Now its just ROY G. BV. What kind of name is BV?

Scorpio. I'm proud of it because it's easily the coolest one. And I bet that if you looked at any other sign's traits, they would fit you as well.

My sign is Aries, and I don't think it does apply to my personality.

I like to think that I had a choice as to what I am like, not the 'magical' stars.

Taurus - Earth - Venus

Fixed Signs are associated with stabilization, determination, depth, and persistence. They are powerful and willfull in all they do, often achieving much more than the other two qualities. On the other hand, they can also be inflexible, rigid, stubborn, opinionated and single-minded. These traits are often paired with the need to be "correct": they will ruthlessly fight on behalf of their beliefs, regardless of any contrary beliefs deemed sufficiently credible. Only during moments of importance or necessity would they consider changing an opinion.

Scorpio. Though, I think general descriptions of each sign are far too vague to really nail anyone, I think individual day readings (ie: April 16 or something) can be very accurate.
My parents have this book called "The Birthday Book" which examines each day in detail, and WOW that thing is very accurate. Like everyone I've ever looked up in there has been described very closely.

I'm Cancer
and yes it reflects me as a person
because horoscopes are designed to fit ambiguously into every aspect of how we'd like to perceive ourselves
whoever you are, the likihood is that you will try to find the similarities and not the times it misses completely
i hope nobody believes in astrology here
i'm a cancer too. the thing about the whole astrology thing is that they are so vague they could be applied to so many things that sooner or later SOMETHING will happen that matches purely by coincidence.

Sagittarius, but most of the traits that therefore should apply to me, well, don't.
