Got mine around 3rd grade, and thus the downward spiral began. Social alienation, name calling, lost friends, and stereotyping followed for the next 17 years and counting.

I got mine in the tenth grade, then lost them later that year, then got a new pair that I have used since then. I am at the end of twelfth grade so for about 2 years or so.

No glasses for me! Though I've always kind of wanted them. I feel like I'd look smarter.

I got them about 6 years ago, when I was 17. I didn't really notice until I tried on a friend's pair of glasses and found that my vision actually dramatically improved upon trying them on. Seems to be astigmatism combined with mild near-sightedness. It's gotten worse every year, but has started to slow down. I actually like wearing glasses, though, so... whatever.

Edit: Forgot to address contacts. I tried them for about half a year. Hated them. So much. They suck(ed?) for astigmatism anyway, and they would completely dry out in like an hour.

I was around 23, driving was a life or death adventure, and looking at whiteboards gave me wicked migraines. At least my eyesight hasn't degenerated since then, which is lucky, cause my mother's eyes are shit.

Also, to the people posting that they don't wear glasses and have perfect vision etc. Really???

I think I'm gonna ask the next person I know IRL who doesn't wear glasses, "When did you get glasses?" Just to see to see their reaction.

Got my glasses in the 5th grade, couldn't stand them and starting wearing contacts during 6th grade. Now I'm tempted to look into laser eye surgery when I'm old enough.

Got mine when I was 9...or 10. One of the two. It was before 2000, that's for sure. Been living with them ever since.

Got mine a few years ago, for the same reason you got yours, but I pretty much never actually wear them, or contacts for that matter.

I've probably needed them for a lot longer, but I've had them for going on seven years now. Also, I had the same pair for six years. That's pretty bad... you're supposed to go for eye exams a little more often than that.

when I was 8 years old, so 7 years ago. I've got a new frame and two pairs of new lenses since then.

I must've been 12 or 13, I think it was 5th grade. People who have had them for a while will understand when I say they're like a part of my body now so it's hard to remember myself without them. It doesn't help that I have a horrible memory anyway. For a while before that I had been reading books in the dark, and very close to my face because of the dark, because if I had a light on my mom would barge in and turn it off and tell me to go to sleep. I suspect this reading had something to do with it, though my mom and her dad wear/wore glasses too.

I sit in the dark in front on my computer and have done so for many years. Now and then my vision goes blury as hell, then refocuses, so I think I'll need them before long.
