I gave up the second time it died.

I'm a hardcore PC gamer now, although I'll probably be getting a PS3 once I sell all of my 360 crap.

I gave up on the 360 before I got it. I was a Nintendo/Sega fanboy back in those days, and I firmly believed the console had nothing of quality on it, and that it never would. I biasedly assumed the the RRoD was a commonplace thing, and I jumped to conclusions about the entire online community. Then a friend of mine died, and his little brother went off into the army, so he gave me all of his brother's/my friend's belongings, including his 360. I casually played it, still telling myself it was total shit and this was some kind of sin.

And I loved it. I tried to convince myself that if anything happened to it, that that was reason enough for me to go back to my belief that it was shit. And then I got red-ringed, with no warranty, and they asked why I purchased it without one. I told them how I got it, and suggested that I should contact my friend and see if they had a warranty. Microsoft just decided to "assume" they did, and sent me a box.

I fucking love my 360. I love my friends list. I love my game library. It's never let me down, and I don't believe it ever will.

I haven't, despite two RRODs.

Why? Because there is no console platform that can rival it. XBox live was the best thing Microsoft ever did for their console - it irrevocably converted me from PlayStationdom.

Either this is a very subtle troll, or he is sick of his breakbox (my consoles nick name). Either way, I didn't give up, and stuck at it, and it works now.
Subtle? This guy is about as subtle as a hammer to the face to be fair at least didn`t break into the usual xbox RROD machine LOL that you usally see from trolls , so kinda okay dude is kinda okay

OT:Never, only had one break on me in my 4 (five at christmas) years of owning one which died last march ,and was quickly replaced (bizzarly i din`t have to pay even though it was most definatly out of warrenty) ,then again my PS3 broke within 2 months of owning one ,which leads me to suggest i may be Mr.Anomaly but waddaya goin do?

Mines perfectly fine.
The only thing that pisses me off is my dog who decides to hit it while I play a game screwing up the disc.
Now?
I always get the 1 dollar warranty. Hehehe.

I haven't given up on the Xbox 360 yet. I'm currently on my third one. I've had them replaced for an unreadable disk drive and later I received the dreaded red ring of death. My current one might have an issue with its HDMI port, but sadly I'm still using a standard def TV most of the time.

Tech support has actually been very helpful, even offering to replace my current console free even though my warranty has run out (if it does have HDMI issues).

Launch day 360 still chugging along, a little maintenance every once and a while goes a LONG way.

I gave up on consoles when Microsoft pulled BS when I tried to renew my XboxLive Account.

My first RRoD, which, in the same month, happened to 3 of my cousins. And as soon as they announced Nahtal.

Never gave up on mine. Broke once (3 red rings...ugh) but because it was an early model, I got it fixed for free.

Nope. 3 years old, and mine is still spinning pretty. Mostly because i install my discs to the hard drive to keep it from spinning. Saves wear and tear.
Thats what it does?
I didn't understand what it did at first.
