the fact that I have replaced my Xbox three times without even the slightest hesitation stands as a testament for our love

Thats the opposite of a reason to give up. And its after 25 kills so its gonna be next to rediculous to get.

When I realized there are much better games on the PS3, and it doesn't break if I brush up against it. Also when I took a look at the games and saw 95% of the "exclusives" are on the PC and play better on it too.

I almost did. Twice. The second time was a week ago when I was playing Halo 3 and I realized how stale the game has gotten. I thought about giving up on it then I saw a light. The light was one of the explosions in The Ballad of Gay Tony. I'm playing Gay Tony right now and besides the missions that include sticky bombs, everything is great!

Mine hasn't broken. Since most of my friends' have though, online has gotten less about fun times and more about pre-game lobby 14-year-olds yelling incoherent high-pitched bullcrap. Not to mention the menu system hasn't gotten any better with the arty-avatary-game-pluggy updates.

Needless to say, it's been sitting for a while unused. Contemplating whether to buy a ps3 and Assassin's Creed 2 or just buy it for the 360.

I've had mine just over 2 years and never had a problem with it.

Here's a few things I do to help prevent RROD:

Install games onto hard drive.

Keep it on a stack of video cases away from the carpet so no vents are covered.

Keep it two feet from the wall behind it.

Switch off every 2-3 hours for 20 mins to letit cool down.

It's Instant Win. Anything with instant win is OPed. Therefore, I do not like it. Also, just heard the Ambiko weapon add-on now can be used with pistols, machine pistols, AND SMGs, which is a primary weapon. Whoever thought duelwielded P90s weren't slightly OPed is wrong (my opinion :D)

Never did, I still play it and it's never had a single problem...but I think the optical drive is dying... I do play a bit more PC these days, but that really depends on the game I'm playing.

I haven't, sure it stopped working two weeks in from getting it (not a red ring just stopped), I sent it away got it back two weeks later and have never ever had a problem since. Except that time it ate GTA 4, but that was because someone (not me) moved the box while it was playing and I had a disc guarantee.

If I give up on Maria she will fucking kill me or RROD like the last time. You see, I started playing Baldurs Gate II right next to her on the PC. She obviously took offense at me spending so much time with an ex-game and decided she had enough and red ringed on me. Still, I could never resist her fiery temper and slender grace so she was repaired and I still play with her all the time. Recently I've been finding myself more drawn to Baldurs Gate II, she is like no other game/console I have every met. We have to meet in and at random times however and I have a feeling that Maria knows but when we do meet it is so wonderful. I love Maria but I'm not a one console man, I need some variety in my life and I think she feels the same way. I don't remember putting the old Xbox (Phil) on top of her but I've never brought it up, we both know that in the end there will be no one else for the both of us.

On my second one after the MS guys fixed mine for free. Unlike some, I am patient enough to wait a few weeks instead of going nuts and buying another one. If you do go this route, just print out the shipping label and get your own box and packing peanuts or bubblewrap from an reputable store. It's faster than waiting for the MS guys to ship a box to you and you can get the peanuts in one go.

The only reason I believe mine went red is because I changed the orientation of the xbox360 after three years of working horizontally into an year of working vertically. There was no other difference other than playing less than I did before. I could be wrong though.

Not yet, I've had my Elite for 2 years now, never really had any problems with it. Had one red ring incident, but that was during a blizzard and the power was rather iffy. Had a couple of freezes in Fallout 3, but that's about it. And just a thought for the folks complaining about the disc spinning out of place and messing things up, keep it flat, not standing up, and don't move it while it's on and has a disc it. Hell, I try to make sure I don't even move it with a disc in while it's off just in case. Oh, and don't cram it into a cupboard, it needs proper ventilation.

'Nuff said.
Uhh, no? "'Nuff said" implies that you've adequately explained why. A game you presumably dislike on a given platform is hardly a reason to 'give up' on that platform. Have you even played said game? Did it somehow destroy your console upon release? This really raises more questions than it answers. Or am I missing the point, are you just trying to be a part of the cool crowd by expressing how much you hate halo at any given opportunity?

OT: My xbox 360 DVD drive broke, as it was still under warranty microsoft fixed it. I was very disapointed when I realized they'd put in the DVD drive I can't mod, no uncensored american imports for me :( Never really gave up on it though, I just can't play everything I want too.

After the fourth time it made the Red Ring o' Death. The people told me it was no longer their problem, so I gave up on it.

Not yet. I've only had one for two years and I enjoy it. Hell, my launch PS2 still works fine. Possibly one of the few that are left.

I love mine. Had it for two years, sent it in once. Turns out it was a problem with one of the disks I was using, but still got a free month of XBL out of it. So I'm pretty happy.
