In the space of three days my brothers 360 red-ringed while mine spontaneously decided to no longer accept any form of disc. It was my second. Has anyone else reached a point where they have given Microsoft the metaphorical two fingers and given up, if so, what caused it?
Funny you should say.
I reached that point just today.
But what has got me really jaded.
I have a fair amount of games accumulated.
So that would mean I could never again play through,
Call of duty 4 or Half-Life 2.
I might buy a new one just in case.
To enjoy the new Bioware adventures in space.
nice poem

Man its so relieving to see that other people are getting the unreadable disk problem I was thiking of getting a gaming PC, or PS3 afterward but then my dad just randomly sent the thing in so I'm getting it back and it better damn work!
Seriously though I hate how Microsoft doesn't seem to acknowledge the shitty fucking disk-reading laser in the unit I think all people who suffered the problem should start a petition basically "Microsoft, fix your god damn cheap as hell laser"

I'll keep playing my xbox 360 until it stops ticking over and even then I'll probably get it repaired.

Not had a problem with it for the past year or so, and I hope it continues to remain that way.

I haven't, though I'm not far off after this new party removal bullshit. It'll still remain my favourite console, but PC gaming is calling me back louder and louder.

I gave up on Nintendo when I finished Twilight Princess and there wasn't a single other game on the Wii that was good and that the controller is useless, and gave up on Sony when I brought a PS3 and was immediately disgusted by the looks, the poor online features, the god-awful controller and lack of exclusives worth getting.

Mine has behaved itself for over a year now and shows no signs of doing otherwise, but it is a elite though, and I've heard they last a lot longer.

I gave up on it after 3 deaths. Then I sold the new one they gave me, and bought an Elite with a BenQ disk drive about a year later (they're higher quality - MS finally got the goddamn hint). If you don't know what it is, look it up, then buy a newer 360 so they don't eat shit on you later on.

I'm on my 2nd xbox, if its gets a red ring again i'm most likely just going to stick to my ps3. The 2nd uncharted has really given me an optimistic view on sony's console. :)

I have not given up on 360. It lives while my PS3 got the yellow light. Ironic, no? Then Sony wanted £128 from me to fix it so FUCK THEM.
