I've had my 360 for 3 or 4 years and the only thing wrong with it is that it has a bit of trouble opening sometimes. No real major problems though.

Mine died once from RRoD, but that was it. Got it fixed in under two weeks and I'm going on year two with no issues (knock on wood!)

I generally never gave up on my Xbox, but I did on MW2 when they released the 'Tactical Nuke' Killsteak

I had my first 360 for almost 3 years before it's disk drive failed.
My second is still going strong after a year of having it.
I expect most electronics to fail very near/after the warranty has expired anyway.

Mine's broken down and I've had to send it in 3 times to replace the console. Also, one of them, Xboxie II, scratched 3 of my discs. However, I was able to repair the discs, and everytime I send the cosole in I get a free month of Gold on Live. Although I have, as you say, given the metaphorical finger to Microsoft, I think they just have the best games, so I keep with them.

Im pretty sure the Xbox 360 is causing alot of mind numbing annoyance. but then I must have got lucky mine only decides to churn up discs for a living and spew ureadable technology down my throat. Im surprizingly satisfiyed with my buy it hasnt completely broke and its helped me realise what consol i will be buying next time round .
p.s it will be a playstaion 4 XD
xbox is not the same and never will be but Ill keep this as long as it lasts its worth it but not worth the long haul

My first died due to my own fault and my second has never given me trouble. In short, I have not given up, and don't think I will (until a new xbox comes out.)

That sounds very yum.
I gave up on the 360 as a system way before it was even announced. I generally only play PC, and a bit of my PS3. But 95% of my gaming hours are dedicated to PC.
Plus my 360 simply won't turn on, I have tried everything, but I gave up. So you could say I gave up on the 360 twice.

I've never given up...on my roommates 360. This is his third though, and according to him, if this goes out he isn't getting another one.

I haven't given up on any of my consoles. Well, except for the N64. After I downloaded an emulator, I completely gave up on that pain in the ass.

Nope. 3 years old, and mine is still spinning pretty. Mostly because i install my discs to the hard drive to keep it from spinning. Saves wear and tear.
Thats what it does?
I didn't understand what it did at first.
Yeah, it installs the whole game into your hard drive so you can play it without running the system. You still need the game disc in the tray because it does a confirmation spin to check and see if the game is in there. keeps you from duplicating a single disc in everyones hard drive. But it still does wonders to the life of your 360.

I was going to buy it before I buy a PS3, but then I thought "Gee, if I had a blu-ray player I could watch advent children and other hd stuff". So, I'm saving up the the PS3 first. Don't get me wrong, the 360 is definitely worth the money, but with the PS3's price drops...oh, it'll be alot more popular.

Again, 360 is still the shit!
